I really screwed myself this time.

This is probably the most out there I think I'm putting myself on TB...so here goes. So I have been with my current girlfriend for about a year, id say we live in the same apartment but not 'together'. She works all the time and so do I. Her days mine nights. Things have been strained lately. Well over the last week or so I was seeing a co worker after work, it was a platonic thing then, until the other night when, barring details, things got a bit heavy. I told my girlfriend about it this morning. She's increadibly hurt and I feel horrible for letting this happen. I've been cheated on before and I always told myself id never do it to anyone.
In addition to personal ramifications. The company is now aware of the incident and I have a phone meeting with our home office to decide what they're going to do with me. I don't know if staying at my current facility will be a good or bad decision.
I really am at a total loss for what to do. People's are saying just go back to your life before this co worker thing, try to hash it out with my girlfriend. I dunno if I can, if she can trust me or if I can trust myself.
I don't think I've ever put anything like this out on OT but say what you will, judgement or advice I'm open to all.

If you want to stay with your girl you don't have much of a choice other than to talk to her, let her know that you know you messed up and hope she understands. As far as trust goes, if she gives you the opportunity, build it up again. Assuming there weren't any reasons to question your trustworthiness before this, there's no reason you couldn't go back to being that person. I guess there's no guarantee that things could be set right but there's no reason not to try either. People make mistakes. The best thing you can do is try to make up for them.

Good luck.

I thought you were just fixin' to move to NYC? Wasn't it you with that thread, and you were talking about how great your life was and everything moving along nicely?

My advice is to first figure out what you want to do with the relationship with your girlfriend, you seem indecisive at the moment. No sense in patching that up or dragging it out if you want/need to move on.

Does the company have a strict policy against dipping your pen into company ink? If not, what business of theirs is it?

maybe it happened at work on their property? And I'm curious as to how they know ,caught in the act ? I don't really want or need to know just making an assumption.

I think you should let the dust settle a bit before you make any serious decisions on what to so next .

Good luck ... You will survive

Cheating to me is about th most disrespectful thing you can do to someone. I would tell your girlfriend she is free to dump you if she so pleases, that you would be willing to work through it but if she wants out you understand and wont resent that decision. Personally I think she should dump you , because it obviously shows that you dont care about someone to much.

That's what I told her. Also I appreciate your honesty and understand if you or anyone else thinks less of me.

I dont think less of you , I dont even know anything about you besides this, that would be like judging a book by its cover , and I am in no authority to judge someone based on one part of there life-I just know how hard it must be on her and in a situation like that I mean you can really say sorry enough, I know its really hard to repair a relationship after something like that.......I have watched many friends try and the trust jut isnt there, and they were the cheaters btw. The girlfriends could never forgive them fully and would call and txt them a ton trying to keep tabs on them , eventually it got to stressful and they just gave up.

My employer is involved because its technicaly fraternizing with an employe who is below my supervision.
And yeah I thought my life was going smoothly too. :/

Aha. In my former company, that leads to summary termination of the supervisor. That kind of thing exposes the company to horrendous sexual harrassment claim liability. Bad karma. You should try thinking with your other head.
