Im going out on a limb here, I dont play jazz well at all, I have a decent understanding of music theory too. (maybe its because I dont listen to it.) or dont practice it enough.
But I have to agree with the masses here, that tabs are NOT going to give you the understanding you are going to need to learn jazz lines. As stated, all you should need is the chord progressions and be able to work off that. A good book that you can get that I didnt see mentioned here is Ed Friedlands, "Building Walking Bass Lines" Its got both visual and audio representation, so it helps it all to sink in better. And it gives you alot of the tools you need to build a good walking bass line. That particularly comes in usefull in jazz music.
Tabs just dont give you the information you need to play a song. Theres no time sig, no 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, notation to give you an acurate represention of how to play the individual notes, Its pure GARBAGE!

You don't learn Jazz with tabs. People that can play it live, sleep and breath Jazz. Jazz equal dedication tabs do not.
