I'm on a 405. I don't really like the look of the chrome hardware on today's lower range and the cosmo black of the prestige range is probably a little dark. The matted chrome finish really looks good. In my view.

I'm currently using a Ritter gig bag (RG4000-9-B Size: 120.5 x 32.5 x 38 x 1 cm). Fits in snuggly, sometimes catches the strap but it all fits in. Pockets are too tight at the front though so I'm looking for something a little more roomy on the front but guitar pouch size is fine.
Used a Gator hardcase a while back and it fit perfectly into that too.
With the horn I'd just be cautious of any bag that's got a short body area if you're buying online.

What strings are everybody else using on their BTB676's? I'm going to be borrowing one for recording but the strings need changing, with the 35" scale & tapered B I'm struggling to find strings that fit, only option seems to be the D'Addario EPS170-6SL but will the normal 130 B fit?
Thanks! I am usually a hard case guy. Would one of those musicians friend $40 hard cases be fine?

The specs show that case has body dimensions 13.75" x 19.5". Both of my BTB's measure 20" butt to horn, not including the strap buttons, so no.
I splurged and bought one of these:

Barring that, just check the body length dimensions for any case you are considering.

What kind of strap should I get? My band tends to do three hour or longer rehearsals, and our sets are probably going to be pretty long as well, so I'd like a strap that minimises the bass's weight as much as possible.
Maz, will that case fit the BTB1006E with its 35'' scale? It looks like it will, but I want to be absolutely sure first.

Yep. Both of mine are 35" and while the cutaway on my 4 (in picture is deeper) I also have a 505 and it fits perfectly.

Anything from these guys, but that one is really the best. I prefer these to the more popular Levy's straps - nicer leather feel, smell good, etc.
Your bass will balance well due to it's neckthrough design. However, if you play that long I would recommend a 4 inch wide leather strap.

Balance doesn't have anything to do with being neck through or not. BTBs balance well in both bolt on and neck through configurations.

I have an obsession for wood. The musical kind.
I'd go with Wolfpak's polyfoam case...seriously the best of both worlds. It protects like a hardshell and carries like a gigbag, and fits my 776PB with hardly any wiggle room.
Thrash3r, I don't use any other strings than the Elixirs. They're fantastic bang for the buck.

I wouldn't use stainless steel on a fretless if I were you. They will chew up your fretboard in no time.
Best thing to do is to stick with some flatwounds. If you want roundwounds, you can use DR Hibeams, work fine too on fretless
