Ibanez only for metalheads now?

The difference between a "metal" bass and a "non-metal" is who endorses it?

No, i never said they made "metal" basses, i said they make basses for those type of musicians, as seen in their artist list.

Such as As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, Killswitch Engage, In Flames, Haste the Day, Shadows Fall, etc.

Now I know a bunch of TBers are gonna come in here and be like, "thats metal? bleh bleh bleh not metal" but its the same sound.

I don't see your point.
Not even half of the musicians on this list play metal.

At least half of these artists play some type of hard sounding music.

And so what? they've been associated with rock/metal genres for more than a decade, ever since Korn exploded, and perhaps before that.

So youve confirmed my thoughts

just think of Satriani of Vai. They have been with Ibanez for a long time. John Pettrucci did too. And they use metal as their marketing tool because about 30% of metalheads play an instrument (or just tried to play one but bought one), that's a HUGGGE market.

Makes sense, but it seems like they should expand on their market. If only they still made basses like they did in the olden days

might as well cry about ESP too
yeah, except at least they still have the vintage 4.

All of ibanez basses look too streamlined now. And with exception to the ATK series, I think they all sound pretty much the same

3 doors down muthaf00000!!!!!! tha's some serious metal!!

Bob Weir huh? He's SOOO metal!!!

LOL you guys are ignoring everything posted in this thread.

How about take this up to size and compare Ibanez endorsed list with fenders.

there are far more heavy sounding artists on ibanez's roster than fenders.

Maybe I offended some ibanez fanboys, if I did, sorry, but I own an ibanez too.
