Ibanez Promethean

Just got my Promethean today and it's sweet! It's really not that different from my Markbass LMII besides the fact that the LMII has more lows. They both even have tone filters with the whole vintage and modern options. That's awesome for me because I love the tone of my Markbass but I like the looks and feature set of the P500H. I'm not a big fan of slider EQs but as good as it sounds flat I don't think I'll be using it much anyway. The only thing that's disappointed me so far (and not by much) us the fact that it's not nearly as red as the pictures would suggest. Mine is like a dark ruby color. I wanted fire truck red, lol!

My first impression is very good and I'll be taking it on two gigs soon so I'll give my report on those too. I'll be playing through my Hartke HX410. I might even do a full out LMII vs. P500H review after I spend some quality time with it.

Most people are happy that it's not as red as the picture, myself included...

It is very similar to the MB, sounds a little more old school to my ears.

It was a toss up between them for me, but I went with the new kid on the block...

I saw and heard fire truck re and I got ruby. Personally, I was somewhat disappointed that I people won't mistake for something more dangerous than an amp head, lol. I picked up a brand new one at a better price than I got my LMII used for! I was so worried that it would sound weak next to my LMII because it's only VERY recently that I've found any other amps that I would consider owning over it. Needless to say I'm very happy with the tone so the LMII can find another player out there without me wondering if I made the right decision or not because for me, I'm sure I did.

I guess if I had to add one more thing to the gripe list it would be the lack of two Speakon outs. I feel like Speakon jacks should be a unwavering standard at this point especially since they accept 1/4" speaker cables anyway, but I'll live :).

Lovin' this combo dearly, but I've felt compelled to email Ibanez UK to tell them that the cover, as well-made as it is, is useless because it only has a shoulder strap.

It's only a little, light combo, but it's a bind to lug around on your shoulder.

If only there was a hole in the top of the case giving access to the top handle of the amp (as is the norm with almost all amp covers) - then it would be perfect.

It's a shame, but there ya go.

I received the 10" combo the other day, and loved it.

This morning, when I turned it on, lights were on but there was no sound. Tried turning it on and off a couple of times ... no change.

I called Musician's Friend and asked for an exchange. They obliged immediately.

When I went to pack the amp, I tried it one last time, and IT WORKED.

What's going on?

No. The mute button was off.

Here are all the things I checked:
1) Master volume was not at 0
2) The bass and cable were working fine with another amp
3) Mute was off (pressed on and off a couple of times to verify this wasn't the problem).
4) Power cord was attached properly.

Some people here wrote about a problem where the amp takes a long time to start. Is that it?
