Ibanez Upright Bass

I’d move this over there but I don’t want to be held responsible for so many heart attacks.

That's the funniest thing I've read by one of the TB muckety-mucks in a while. :roflmao:

You don’t get it. Half of them are on life support already. The word “Ibanez” alone could push them over the edge.

...and that was borderline mean. (still pretty darn funny though)

It may have been more interesting if they had managed to include strap buttons as it looks like you could play it that way.
The 34" scale length ruins it for me. If I get an EUB I want the 42" to 44" scale, or whatever double basses usually have (I think it's 42", right?). Well whatever it is, it's *not* 34"!! I mean they could have at least made it 35 or 36, but this is like they weren't even trying.

The 34” scale is a deal-breaker for me, too.

I’m sure it’s a well made instrument; I have nothing but the highest regard for Ibanez basses. That said, a 34” EUB just doesn’t feel anything like playing a real upright or a full-scale EUB.

I remember trying out one of Dean’s 34” EUBs and it felt like a toy to me. I’m glad I lucked into my NS at a good price.

I’ve played several variants of this sort of thing and they all leave me cold.
Tripod stands don’t move around with you like an upright and an end pin feels way better, to me.

Just my wholly devalued .02; but I’ll take a Takamine TB10 or Rob Allen Mouse over this e’ry day of the dang week, and weekends too.
