Seems odd to refer to it as an upright rather than an electric upright.

Newly announced: I'm not sure it's in stores yet. Maybe check the Double Bass side of TB?

My guess is that if it was an acoustic it would be a tad bigger.

  5. It looks good. I hope to see someone post a review when they've been released.

I’d move this over there but I don’t want to be held responsible for so many heart attacks.

  7. If you are able to edit the thread title to Ibanez Electric Upright Bass before moving the thread, the users shouldn't have such an adverse reaction.

You don’t get it. Half of them are on life support already. The word “Ibanez” alone could push them over the edge.

  10. But it’s a 34 inch scale, so really more an unlined fretless electric bass without body wings, than an upright.

I don’t think the upright side would consider this an EUB, even.

It may have been more interesting if they had managed to include strap buttons as it looks like you could play it that way.

Exactly. I'm not seeing much similarity to a DB.

Found this. Interesting, especially for anyone that does not already have a good EUB. $900!

  15. I’m intrigued by it. But the dude looks he he couldn’t decide between the Moe or Curly haircut and settled for an unfortunate compromise :bag:.

Seems more like their take on the NS Design CR basses than an attempt to make a real electric upright. It doesn’t sound bad, but it’s only slightly more “upright-y” than a decent fretless.

  17. That's pretty much my take on it too, it just sounds like a fretless bass guitar. I would bet that it doesn't come with "real" upright strings though. Putting on a set of broken in spiro's would probably help things a lot.

I wonder if they'll offer an upper bout attachment? This style of electric upright is kind of unwieldy without it if you learned to play on an acoustic upright.

34" scale? not an upright more like an NS Omni Bass
