Patty and Bob you guys ROCK!! Thanks so much for putting on events like this, My Daughter and i had a blast. We, (us Bass Playing wackos) need to have a gtg like this every few months, and oh it figures I'd find Paul here, heard you was headed back this way, we'll have to hook up when your back in town Paul. Good to see so many old friends tonight.

BassManDude, your Orange Isobaric 4x10 cab was killer. As an aspiring competitor, I was very impressed by its solid impact and clarity.

I just want to say thanks for everyone involved for making this a success. I had tons of fun meeting new people and connecting with old friends. :)

Duke, I must say your cabinet is awesome. I think Mr. Manring was diggin' it too. ;)

Mooselumps had a parts bass that kicked some serious tonal butt! :bassist:

Also, thanks to everyone that were able to show up to the concert. It was a blast! Man, I'm tired.

What a great show. I was glad to see such a big turnout for the concert. Michael and all the other acts were just killin'.

Big thanks and props to everyone involved, but especially to Bob and Patti for their great warmth and generosity. I had a great time meeting a whole new GTG crew, plus hanging with Duke and his family. BTW, you all can refer to that 112 cab Duke brought along as my cab now...:bassist:

Lots of fun. I was blown away by the Thunderchild, whomever it belongs to. ;)

It was a blast. I was glad to shake hands with some nice lumber and some nicer lumberjacks (and some lady bass players as well).

The Manring concert was stupendous. It was like he read my mind when it came to the set list.

Good to meet you all, and Thanks for the memories.

BassManDude, [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] is the "fEarful Headcase" that MooseLumps was telling you about. It was designed to go with a 15" woofer that in turn rolls off at about 800 Hz or so - probably two octaves lower than your speakers. So I'm not sure this would be the ideal way to add more top end to your system. But making a good recommendation isn't really possible for me to do without good measurements, sorry.

So here is my suggestion for adding top end to your Orange cab: The Ciare 1.38TW tweeter. US Speaker sells it for fifty-five bucks. The Eminence PXB 3K5 high-pass filter might work well with it; ask Al Kawati of US Speaker for his opinion on that. You'd probably want a 100-watt L-pad in between the crossover and the tweeter so that you can adjust the level. I'm not saying this is an ideal solution, but it has a reasonable chance of success. A custom crossover would be the first choice, but unfortunately I'm too far behind on too many projects to offer that.

That Ciare tweeter worked pretty well for me in my first top box build:

3.5K is a workable cross point, IME. I probably have a crossover design kicking around, but finding it may be a bit of an adventure. Of course, crossing from 10s will be a bit different than from the 6 in my cab, but it could be a decent starting point at least.

Since Charlie has actual experience with this tweet, anything he says supercedes anything I said. Charlie could easily be a bass cabinet and amplifier manufacturer, if he wanted to. And he'd probably bury me.
