Can anyone identify this bass guitar, it's from 1966, the band is "The Untamed" (never heard of them). I Know it looks like a Burns Bison on steroids. Some one off? ....or some European unknown brand? It's not too often I see a bass that I have never seen before.

I think the angle makes it very hard to correctly gauge the size of the horns on that bass. But if you look at the tip of each horn and draw a line from each to the fretboard, you can get a pretty good idea of how it compares to the Burns. I'd say it's a fairly good chance they are one and the same.

The pickup looks slanted unlike the Bison bass. But the similarities are there so I'm speculating

Not a Bison unless heavily modded. Different pickups, controls, pick guard, headstock and bridge.

I admit I had to Google Bison bass, and saw different versions, but none like this.

  13. Weird video... no moshpit, no crowd surfing, what's going on, is everyone sedated?

On a different point, in the shot of the bass at the end those horns look huge and way bigger than a Burns.

that still image in the 1st post makes the neck look very narrow. i bet they had to slant the neck pickup just to get the strings over the pole pieces. perhaps it's a home-brew (a-la brian may) bass based on or inspired by a burns bison?

    Burns for the win!

  18. The horns look too long for a Burns Jazz in the video...
I'm betting it's an early 60s Burns Bison which would have had the larger horns and would have been long-scale.
