If i had $8499...

Hey that's pretty good there, Lucas, I wish I had the testi-calls to post my playing, I wanna know how far I've come in my few months of playing.

I just can't bring myself to voluntarily throw myself to the TB lions, I'll surely be eaten alive.

Thank you, One shot. I am confident in my ability...but that confidence comes from many, many years of experience.

Having said that, I put my #ss out on the line whenever I play with an orchestra (Like I did last night). You see, every single bassist in that orchestra is better then me. Talk about a reality check. But you know what? I don't ridicule them or insult them. Nope. I learn from them. I take their advice. I ask questions.
I also have a bass teacher...one who is in a major orchestra, and whose word I take on pretty much all bass issues, including equipment and gear.

Right, you just said it for no reason whatsoever, directed at no one. Wow! That is some serious double-speak you have mastered there, Mongo.

More harassment and abuse from you.

Fair enough. How about you post a link of your playing? A soundcloud? A youtube? I submit that if you are to imply that someone, anyone, everyone....could possibly be a poor crafstman because they don't exactly shine on a lesser quality bass...then you should demonstrate what level of bass craftmanship you yourself posses that gives you the right to say something like that. Go ahead.

I have no need to do that and the fact that you want it is reason enough for me to not do so.

Report me to the teacher all you want, Mongo. But when you do, explain to them why you follow me from thread to thread, put me down with your obvious indirect way, and then complain when someone argues back.

Actually I don't. That's just your persecution paranoia acting up again.

You on the other hand, as others have noticed, have a habit of ranting and throwing tantrums.

BTW, we also do Roly-Poly and other similar tunes...they're fun to play.

I would like to point out that between the epic smack down and the general, giggle-inducing buffoonery, my intensely reasonable and exquisitely thought-out post hit tragically buried. Tragic because once read, it would have instilled in all a sense of harmony, even as it aligned the planets and revealed the secret to cold fusion.

See what happens when a thread goes totally sideways?

Don't feel too bad - and I acknowledge what you wrote several pages back.

This thread was an absolute atom bomb from the first few pages. Now it's just a distraction to keep us entertained while the other threads we posted in await responses.

Yeah, I think I'll post about Jaco, TAB, Jeff Berlin, metronomes, Extended Range Basses and slapping and tapping. No one ever gets upset about that stuff.....;)

And metronomes are programmed to drag ever-so-slightly, to make you think you're always rushing a little. Except Jeff Berlin's, which is just stupid.

And the Fodera extended B string makes a B string sound like a Bb string.

And TAB preceded written music. It was originally used to notate Gregorian chant to be slapped and tapped on a Lute.

Lou: You gonna order something, kid?
Marty McFly: Ah, yeah. Give me- Give me a Tab.
Lou: Tab? I can't give you a tab unless you order something.
Marty McFly: Right. Give me a Pepsi Free.
Lou: You want a Pepsi, pal, you're gonna pay for it.

Seriously though, this thread is still going on?

I've posted in it several times and cleared up everything concisely and with remarkable wit. I think people should reread my posts before deciding to post again.

I was thinking of the SAME lines from Back to the Future!

Seriously tho. /thread
