I saw that this has turned into an all-out class war. But I'm going just offer my opinion on the bass..

The price does not seem unreasonable for a high-quality handmade instrument with these features. With the materials and quality of labour put into it, I'd say it's easily 'worth' the price being asked.

The 'value' of it is completely subjective and I'd say that's where most people's problem with it is. If it's value and price don't line up for you, then of course you'll either think it's overpriced or an absolute bargain.

I would love to own something like it and I'm not going to hold it against others who can afford it.

And massive respect for nostatic for actually playing them. I'm sure others on TB do, but you rarely see the photos...

I have a special wheeled cart built to transport my oon, so I guess It's a cart-oon.....:hiding:
Of course, I'm saving up for a specially built oon that has been painstakingly buffed and polished by the finest European craftsmen. As you might guess, buff-oons are almost priceless! :D

I don't think you are permitted to make a post that is so logical and well thought out. Plus, you aren't attacking anyone, which also isn't allowed. Did you forget that this is the Internet?

It came up in a thread where I had said something to the effect of: "I don't sound as good or play as well on a super cheapo bass"

And he responded with "it is a poor craftsman that blames his tools"...right after my post.

Then I looked at his non-existant profile and wondered out loud what his own bass playing experience was, for him to insinuate that I was a "poor craftsman"...and he reported me.

I may not be Hadrien Ferraud on the bass, but ANY TB member can come check out my playing if they are in the OC area in socal, and decide for themselves if I am a "poor craftsman".

On 10-13-12, around noon, I will be performing at Don The Beachcomber's in huntington beach, with my trio. Anyone from TB want to come and give a full report? I would welcome it, absolutely.

I have one oon which is painted blue, but I rarely take it to gigs because it's very slow and always making me late.

It's, of course, a blue lag-oon.

I generally like variety, so I often take a whole rack full of, you guessed it....rack-oons.

In the Macy's day parade last year, I played ball-oon.

Ok, I'm done.

You should give the Harp-oon a shot! :D

But you need extreme skill, not just any ol'
baff-oon can play it.

That is a lie. My response was to no one in particular and it was a full 6 posts after your post. I didn't quote your post nor did I indicate in anyway that it was directed to you or anyone else. It is simply a quote of an old saying. I explained this to you several times yet you continue to lie.

I reported you for harrassment for spreading that lie repeatedly in several threads over a period of months and you were disciplined by the moderators for that activity. If it continues I will have no choice but to report you again.

Fair enough. How about you post a link of your playing? A soundcloud? A youtube? I submit that if you are to imply that someone, anyone, everyone....could possibly be a poor crafstman because they don't exactly shine on a lesser quality bass...then you should demonstrate what level of bass craftmanship you yourself posses that gives you the right to say something like that. Go ahead.

Here is one of mine. Nothing special but I did play all the instruments myself and recorded it on an old fostex multitrack tape recorder.

Hey that's pretty good there, Lucas, I wish I had the testi-calls to post my playing, I wanna know how far I've come in my few months of playing.

I just can't bring myself to voluntarily throw myself to the TB lions, I'll surely be eaten alive.
