if you could have 10 and ONLY 10 basses...

Brubakers:
NBS-1 w/Bart J pickups 5
K6 Custom -blackburst 6
K5-BNC Custom fretless 5

Elricks:
New Jazz Standard 5
New Jazz Standard custom semihollow fretless 5

MTD: Ash/Wenge 635 6
Tobias:
Omega 4 and 5

Fender: 78 Ash/Maple Jazz 4

Fodera: Anthony Jackson Contrabass 6

If I 'had" to get down to 10. I'd easily be set with these, all in my current rotation except for the Tobiases. For daily use I'd substitute my Brubaker Xtreme 5 with preamp modules and my long lost Teal Ash/Maple singlecut K5B Brubaker 5.

I'd still want to play my Ambush too.

I still haven't checked out a JP... yet. Screw it... 10 doesn't work for me;)

That should cover it. I'm surprised the closest thing I have to a vintage type axe is the G&L... I'm in love with 5-string though.

ok so i have some revisions,

1 my Fodera (in my avater)
2 a fretless imperial 5
3 Fodera Matt Garrison E-C
4 Fodera NYC with a malpe neck
5 pre ernie ball MM
6 1962/63/64 Fender Jazz bass

i wish i could have half of those, but in all honesty my Fodera the Fretless Fodera and the Fender would be all i would really need, the rest would be nice though:D

Skjold Custom 5,
Sadowsky PJ5 (rev P) & a Modern 5,
Dingwall 5,
Conklin Custom 5,
Rob Allen Deep 5,
Tyler Custom 5,
Fender Roscoe Beck V (two: one w/roundwounds & one w/flatwound strings),
&
Some custom 5 with Aaron Armstrong PUPs in a tubro arrangement (or maybe just one PUP together with RMC Piezo system).
Pretty much unchanged, except I'd like a neo-Roscoe Beck V with a small 'J'-type Northern Ash body with Nordstrand Dual-Coil PUPs and a by-passable preamp (Aguilar OBP-1 or OBP-3) -- it would probably replace one of the Fender RB-V's.

I also might replace the RA Deep 5 with a modded Lakland 55-01 (Bart Quad-coil narrow aperture PUPs and an OBP-3 preamp) -- "love Lakland's necks". I think that would make a very reasonably priced, excellent-sounding bass.
