if you could have 10 and ONLY 10 basses...

If only my wife would let me get 10 ;)

I'm just going to assume this poll means "the 10 after the 2 my wife has already approved" (which would be a Fodera Imperial IV and a 6-string yet to be determined)

It might look something like this (thogh it depends... sometimes certain things look better than others)

1. Fodera Imperial IV - spalted maple top, Duncan dual-coils, ebony fretboard

2. Fodera Imperial VI -
buckeye burl top, Duncan dual-coils, ebony fretboard

3. Fodera Imperial VII (they don't list but they've built 7's I think) - Duncan dual-coils, ebony fretboard

4. B.C. Rich Mockingbird Supreme. Active Barts instead of the P's. Trans blue finish on flamed maple.

5. B.C. Rich Mockingbird Supreme double neck - 4-str / 12 str (fretted on both)

6. Ken Bebensee Baroque 4.

7. Carl Thompson 4-string.

8. Ritter Classic 6.

9. Drozd Prodigy L.E. 7

10. Basslab L-Bow VI

thank God we wouldn't have to limit ourselves to this in real life. my list would change everyday, but today, it would be, in no particular order:
'78 sting ray (already have it)
'85 G & L L-1000 (already have it)
any year rickenbacker 4001/4003
pre-CBS fender jazz bass
a carl thompson
old solidbody ampeg bass with f-holes (don't know name)
moonstone eclipse
guild acoustic bass guitar
martin acoustic bass guitar
fernandez nomad to take on fishing trips.

i'd look for a good one, no matter the year:

1 Fender Precision
2 Fender Jazz
3 Rickenbacker 4001
4 Gibson EB2
5 Fender American Precision bass deluxe V (the new one)
6 Ernie Ball Muisic Man Stingray
7 Rob Allen MB 2 4 string fretless
8 Lakland hollowbody
9 Reverend Brad Houser
10 a modern hand made top quality 5 strings that i have to choose between Sadowsky, MTD, Alembic, Spector, Roscoe, F, Elrick, Pedulla MVP, Laurus)

changed my mind a little bit...

1 Fender P
2 '51 Fender P RI with flats
3 Fender Jazz
4 Rickenbacker 4001
5 Fender Precision American Deluxe (4 strings not 5...)
6 Sadowsky
7 Warwick Streamer Jazzman
8 a Dingwall
9 fretless Wal
10 a 5 stringed bass, one of these: MTD, Roscoe, Marleaux, Elrick, F, Wal or Benavente

Here's my 10

1. Warwick Corvette Standard (It's MY sound)
2. Warwick Corvette 5
3. Warwick Corvette Fretless
4. Warwick Fortress Flashback
5. P Bass with Flats (A must for any arsenal)
6. USA BC Rich Mockingbird (Can get ANY sound)
7. Lakland 44-02
8. Rickenbacker 4001
9. Alembic Spoiler
10. 62 Jazz Bass or Sadowsky Jazz Bass

As you can see I really like Warwicks. I consider them to be MY sound. I can emulate most other sounds with the other basses. I already have the Warwick Corvette STD, Corvette Fretless and the BC Rich Mockingbird. I also have a nice Electra Rickenbacker 4001 copy, and Essex Jazz and Precision copies that have had some mods done to them. So, I have half of my essential arsenal. If anyone is willing to donate the missing pieces.......

I would want
a Fodera monarch 4 string fretted with all options
a Fodera monarch 4 string fretless with all options
a Fodera monarch 6 string fretless to piss BassSaxMan off ;)
a D.Huff 4 string fretted with all options
a D.Huff 4 string fretless with all options
a K. Bebensse 4 string fretted with all options
a k. Bebensse 4 string fretless with all options, and a kick ass wood carving in the body
a C. thompson 4 string fretless in the style of the rainbow bass
a wish 4 string with whatever
JT's 8-string fretless
a Zon hyperbass with all the options
a double neck hyper bass with all options(they don't make these, but that would be sick)

10 and only 10?!? I only have 2! i would just wish to have 10...

Well, any way, my wishlist would be certain to include:
-- a Warwick S S II. 5 (or rather a 6 custom-made for me...)
-- hmm maybe even a Corvette ProLine in Ocean blue with ebony board and piezos... yumm :)
-- a Wal 6 - no, two! :D
-- a Warrior 9-string to mess around with  :D
-- recently saw a very nice Stambaugh, that, too
-- maybe even try a Fodera...
-- oh almost forgot, a Ric!!
-- Warwick Corvette Jazmann...

These are which I thought about right now... may change if I think it thoroughly over, but anyway, I would like any of these

in no special order

1) one of each Nordstrand model
2) LeFay Capone (Pangton with head)
3) MTD
4) One of each Fodera model
5) Curbow International Exotic Petite
6) Marleaux mBass
7) JP Plume singlecut
8) Hotwire
9) Sadowsky (all models)
10) Neuser Courage and Cloudburst
11) all Zon models
13) Ken Lawrence all models
14) Benavente all models
15) Ritter all models
16) all the Conklins
17) WAL Mach 3

ok... it becomes a bit much... especially since
i want all of these as 6 AND 5 strings, one fretted one fretless, the Conklins also 7-strings.

man, i'm really insane, those would be about 40 basses...

one day... :D
