I have finally found the "my" sound. Harmony H22, LaBella DT760FM's, .047 polyester film OD, no pots.

I'm going to finalize the wiring with two push/pull pots. For tone, one will just be a cap switch, .047 and .1 (pot bypassed). The other is 500K p/p pot and it'll be wired so that the pot works like a normal volume pot or the pot is bypassed and the bass is still on.

It will look sort of like this. It's all I need, or want.

i just noticed that your's only has two pots and doesn't have the lever-type tone switch. what's up with that? i've never seen one without it.

I had a fretted one very similar, black sparkle with piezo and a matching headstock. Mine also had finish bubble at the edge of the pickguard!!

It would have to be some sort of P-bass. I would like it to be a current model MIA, with a natural/amber finish, black PG and maple board, with maybe some kind of vintage type p'up.
Update : Thought about it some more and I think I might go with the Fender Tony Franklin fretted P-bass.

I don't really mix with active electronics or inboard pres, stuff like that, but those Alembics just look SMOKIN'. I've always loved that body shape.
