Thank you! It’s an original from 86So cool to finally see a 2-tone Kubicki! The carving on top of the body makes this a no-brainer. I spoke with the Fender Custom Shop about this idea (inspired by 2-tone auto finishes from the 50's) when they were producing them, but never pulled the trigger on committing to a run.
Is your original or custom?
These two will do...
Wow! Any idea of the backstory?Thank you! It’s an original from 86![]()
Love that Serek! Nice shape and good pickup placement.
That top one (Sadowsky?) is a gorgeous colour.
Ever consider changing your ID to LadyLovePurpleStingray5?

I didn't expect to see a Steinberger on this list, but it would be on mine, too. I have an '84 XL2. It looks dated and a little goofy in 2024, but it's the best bass I've played in 40 years. It plays great, it sounds great, it's perfectly balanced and super comfortable, and it's bombproof. It plays the same today as it did when it was new - low action - straight neck.Only 2? I guess that's better than 1, but still a tough choice. If there was a fire at my place, these are the basses I would grab first with my 2 hands.
