What would your duo be?

If I could only have 2 basses it would be a P with rounds and a p with flats both tuned to D standard. If I could have 3 it would be a P with rounds and flats in standard and one with rounds down a whole step. One of those is all I’ve used or needed to use in the last 3 years

Only 2? I guess that's better than 1, but still a tough choice. If there was a fire at my place, these are the basses I would grab first with my 2 hands.

I didn't expect to see a Steinberger on this list, but it would be on mine, too. I have an '84 XL2. It looks dated and a little goofy in 2024, but it's the best bass I've played in 40 years. It plays great, it sounds great, it's perfectly balanced and super comfortable, and it's bombproof. It plays the same today as it did when it was new - low action - straight neck.
