I play the guitar and some keys as well, but if I couldn't play bass then I assume I couldn't play guitar either. If I could still play keys I would do that I guess. If things were really bad off I assume I would at least be able to do midi sequencing and write songs that way. If I were a human stump, I could probably be a DJ. lol
If it was something like carpal tunnel preventing me from playing I'd probably get my blues harp chops back into shape.

TRUMPET. I started on guitar & bass as a toddler, (thanks to my uncle), but then played drums, and switched to trumpet at 10. Played trumpet professionally, for many years. I still miss my Getzen Severinsen Eterna 700. I sold it 1981, to afford other gear.

I don't have to wonder, because it has really happened to me. I get tennis-elbow so badly that I simply cannot play.
Unfortunately it's so debilitating that it takes playing almost any instrument off the table, can't even touch my bongos.

there's not enough info in the OP question....
If there is a reason I can't play bass anymore, then it must be a physical reason that I really wouldn't be able to play any other instrument really. I don't see how I one could play a more physical instrument like drums (uses all your limbs), but not the bass?

Piano, for sure. I have always been infatuated with classical and jazz piano. Add funk/fusion keys to that list.
I am already unable to play bass because the "temporary apartment" is so small that my basses are under the bed and amps in the storage closet on the balcony.
This is why I have a bass in my work truck, to maybe get 15 minutes in at lunch.
If that was taken away, I'd resort to playing pocket pool.
