If you had a dollar...

For every time someone shouted "Freebird!" when I was playing...

@Killed_by_Death I do the same thing when French people try to ask me something in French.

Je ne pas non Francais. (I don't speak French)

They usually give me a strange look, and continue speaking. I then say

Je ne pas non Francais, non peaux. (I don't speak French, not even a little)

I was bartending in Key West and had a French woman ask me where le toilet was, I answered the way I do, and she continued in French. I gave my response, she asked for le toilet again.

I answered her in Spanish, which apparently she understood well enough to walk over to the large sign that said RESTROOMS with an arrow.

I was a DJ in clubs at 16 years old, a roadie at 18, have been playing in pubs and clubs since then and have been managing pubs and clubs for over 20 years. That makes 30 years working in pubs and clubs.

If i had a dollar (extra just for me) for every beer I've poured i'd be filthy rich.

If I had a dollar for every drunk idiot I've had to deal with i'd be very wealthy.

If I had a dollar for every drunk idiot that thought they know the liquor licensing laws better than me I'd be able to buy a very nice bass.

If i had a dollar for every band that started late, i'd be able to pay all the on time bands double.

OK, I'll be the one to do it.

If I had a dollar for every P bass vs. J bass thread on TB, I could buy everyone on TB which ever one they preferred.

If I had a dollar for every P bass vs. all other basses threads on here, I could buy everyone on TB a pre-CBS model of a P bass. In Tobacco burst. With red tort. Original case. TI flats, with a spare set for 20 years from now. And an early 60s Ampeg Flip-top to play it through. And still have money left to pay Donald Trump's taxes. And Billery's, too.

If I had a dollar for every time my name's mispronounced, I would of be rich enough to buy the Middle Eastern oildfields.
For the record, my name is pronounced Aa-ree-on.

I've been a musician so long, I can remember when people like my dear father used to say "if I had a nickel" decades before anyone said anything about a dollar.

I used to say "if I had a nickel" everytime that "Wild Thing" or "Proud Mary" was requested.
