If you had a dollar...

For every time my uncle would introduce to someone and explain I played the Fender bass. It's an old guy deal.

I used to play with an old black blues player who would book jobs then get on the phone and round up a band. I've come home from work many days and found a message from my old buddy saying he needed a fender man and a lead man.

If I had a dollar for every time my name's mispronounced, I would of be rich enough to buy the Middle Eastern oildfields.
For the record, my name is pronounced Aa-ree-on.

I'm hip. My last name is Campbell. When people ask me to spell it I say "like the soup." Often they'll either ask if there's a P in it, or they'll ask "do you spell it with or without a P?"

On that I reply "There's only 1 way to spell Campbell, with a P."

And when I get a telemarketer call when they ask for Mister Camp Bell, I say he's not here.

I was on the phone with some customer service trying to find my account. I said it could be under Jay or James (legal name), and she couldn't find either I asked "How are you spelling my last name?" She said K A M B L E, like gamble with a K, right?"

No. It's like the soup, only the third most recognizable brand name in America, maybe worldwide but Coca Cola and Nike have to be 1 & 2.

if i had a dollar every time my DB was called a "cello"

i am not rude in my reply when i tell them it is an upright or double bass but i am always surprised.

i get the music programs in school are hardly existent and kids don't get the exposure to these instruments, but knowing what a cello is tells me you know something. i'm not sitting while playing and this thing is huuuuuge!
It wouldn't happen if you stopped playin one of those 3/4 things.

As a professional photographer, I shot a wedding for the Campbell family, and they pronounced it Camp Bell. I thought they may have possibly been insane. Now I'm relatively sure of it.

For every time someone shouted "Freebird!" when I was playing...

@Killed_by_Death I do the same thing when French people try to ask me something in French.

Je ne pas non Francais. (I don't speak French)

They usually give me a strange look, and continue speaking. I then say

Je ne pas non Francais, non peaux. (I don't speak French, not even a little)

I was bartending in Key West and had a French woman ask me where le toilet was, I answered the way I do, and she continued in French. I gave my response, she asked for le toilet again.

I answered her in Spanish, which apparently she understood well enough to walk over to the large sign that said RESTROOMS with an arrow.

That's French?
