For a rig I probably wouldn't use it all I'd just keep it simple, around $2000-$2500 maybe?

$4000 sounds like a lot of dough but like a game show where you fill the shopping cart up you can get only so much before you go over. How about a Fender P Bass Deluxe($1500) , Ampeg 810(reg. ) $1000 and an SVT CL ($1600) .... you went over....see what I mean? Make sure you buy what you really need and want because when you go to re-sell any of it you will be lucky to get 50% of your money back , believe me I am going through this right now. Have fun shopping.....................:)

That's sound logic for buying things brand new... I could get an American Standard P for $700, an Ampeg SVT-CL for $1100 and any old Ampeg 8x10 for $400 all used. thats what... $2200... still have enough for a Rick

IF you were given $4K...

I do believe Roger Sadowsky and I would be having a serious discussion along these lines: :p

I'd get a Nordy VP4 one in the classifieds right now for 1800, then I'd get a Nordy VJ5 Classic to go with my VJ5 modern. probly one around for 2200 :)
Either that or I would get a yin yang standard or an MTD 535 to go with my 635.... Wow I didnt realize how hard this would be. Good thing I don't have 4k!
