That’s gutted me. I loved Alan’s writing and presence here on TB. I always loved his sense of humour and the way he smacked people when they needed it.
I’ll miss him as I’m sure a lot of other TB’ers will. Very sad news indeed.

Sad to hear of his passing. He was always helpful and humble on TB. He will indeed be missed.
That’s a shock. It feels as if he was just here and now... gone. Very sad as he was one of the people who, in my mind at least, helped define TB. He’ll be missed.
Wow, so sorry to hear this. He was a great source of knowledge and always had a kind word to everyone here on TB. I consulted him many times on amps and cabs; always could rely on his advice. He will be sorely missed. RIP, Chef.

OMG, so sad. He was one of the giants on TB, always with a reliable comment or advice. A great loss for TB, but I'm sure a much larger one for his family. Best wishes to them.
