I'm about to commit a TB sin.

Yesterday I pulled $2,300 out of my account. As im looking at the cash I have the incredible urge to but a Rick.
But I only owe $2,100 on my truck. So despite my intense gas pains im going to do the fiscally responsible thing and pay off my truck. Six months early I might add.

This hurts my sole a little but I'll be able to grab a Rick in no time since I'm dropping a $340 monthly payment. Not to mention the money on insurance saved switching from full coverage to liability. If I decide to do that.
Good day to you's

That's the smart way to do things. And you'll achieve both goals this year. Complete ownership of truck, and a new RICK. Congratulation.

You bought the wrong machine. Your truck can take you to a place where a new Rick is a couple grand. A time machine could take you to a time when a new Rick was $400.
Awww man your right! I could go back Get a Ric, Jazz, and a P bass and have a grand left over. I'm a bone head.

Pics of the truck or it didn't happen. :roflmao: Seriously, good call on the payoff. Show us your ric when you get it. Jet or Fireglow?
Fireglo or walnut or mapleglo 4003s or 4004.

TB sin maybe, but good judgment in my book. Just took on a new truck note myself first thing this year. Trying to throw everything possible at paying it off early so I can get back to spending money on bass gear.

Wait, you have an account you can just take money out of. go back and grab $1,500.00 more and buy that Ric. Problem Solved.
You're welcomed.
That would be nice. I take the philosophy of paying myself first. Meaning I take a set percentage of my income and set it aside. Preferably somewhere where it can gain interest before i pay bills. Pay bills carry a small amount of cash for incidentals and live modestly. That provides me with the ability to splurge once and a while or take care of an emergency. In this case I've allotted a larger percentage that can be set aside. Thus making the $1,500 or so hurt less when that splurge comes along.
If that makes any sense at all.

You can't take full coverage off your vehicle when you just paid it off...

I recently picked up an old 02 F150 for cheap. It's been used but it sat most of it's life so it's got a lot left in it. Anywho, about a week before christmas i was helping someone replace some light fixtures in their house prior to listing it for sale, and when i got ready to head home it wouldn't start. It would turn over on ether so it was obviously a fuel delivery problem, but it's sitting on the street in a high tone neighborhood and it's almost dark, so rather than try to figure it out i decided to just have it towed to a little independent shop near my place and have them fix it rather than monkey with it. When i got it i thought i simply added it to our policy, which includes towing so wifey will never be more than a phone call from help. Imagine my surprise when i call my insurance company to arrange a tow and discover i apparently set it up as liability only and the tow across town was going to cost me almost $300. I was committed by that time so i called and arranged a tow and called the shop to let them know it was on the way. When i checked my insurance a few days later i had indeed opted for only liability. I changed it to full coverage and it upped my premium by $187 a year.

Good for you. I've reached a time in my life that I could buy any bass I wanted, but I don't because as priorities go, another bass is fairly low on the list. I've got so many already that don't get played enough.

Good deal! set that payment aside for 6 months and you can get your Rick...set it aside for 12 months you might be able to snag a Wal...hmm
