I would prefer that makers omit the power ratings from their cabs. It’s not going to happen, but it would eliminate some of the confusion about these subjects.

Guys, make sure you’ve got your ohms right, and you’ll be fine.

There needs to be some way for a reasonable person to make a reasonably educated decision about the suitability of a cabinet for the purpose intended.

As a generality, matching the "RMS" power rating of the speaker to the "RMS" rating of the amp is going to be reasonably safe since the units are defined in reasonably similar terms. That's not the case for peak units, which differ by a factor of two usually.

Ok kids, I just got the Traynor TC410 Neo. 800w, 8 ohms. I brought my head to the store, seemed to handle just fine for an hour, did not get hotter u til I blended in more Valve from the Solid state. (AH250SMX Trace head). It's freaking loud a.f. Clean and punchy.

Will there be an unexpected our show at my show Friday? We'll see.​
