I'm taking lessons from this guy...

I never said anything about him being great for his age.

I did say, however, that if he sticks with it, he'll learn. Part of that learning will be what he hears from more experienced musicians.

I was a total wanker at the beginning, and I turned out just fine, and I know the same is true for a lot of players. I know it's fun to judge, and cut down others (which is different than "tough love"), but give the kid a break.
Hey I mean no harm. Not trying to start a fight or anything. But as someone else said, what reason would someone have for posting a video like this other than showing off? Any time someone is showing off on the internet and sucks balls doing it, they deserve everything they get, no matter how cruel. It'd be different if he was jamming like this in his room and didn't think anyone was around and someone was taping him secretly and posted it online. Then I'd chalk it up to the kid getting a raw deal, but it's obvious that this kid thinks he's awesome enough to make videos of his awesomeness and post them for others to see how awesome he is.

No hard feelings. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Good point Jake, I just can't help being grateful about the absence of internet when I was a pup.

If you have to post a bass solo from someone we don't know, I liked this guy better.

And this one's better still...

Or even this guy...

And I like this guys' shirt. Who is he?

edit: It says Chris Targia. What's his screenname? I would like his piece a lot more without the distorted tone.

That was amazing!

Not ONE SINGLE note that wasn´t dissrupted by noise.

Lesson learned: If you cant produce two clean sounding notes just try playing everything in 200bpm with no rythmic space bettween the notes. No one will ever hear that you are only causing frettboard noise.

Never did Fieldy any harm, in his career!! :D
