That was scary.

That norwegian woods video though, was pretty nice. I like his chill out way of playing it, Wooten's had more of a thump which isnt suitable for the song itself I thought. This doesn't come close technique wise but he has a pretty groovy sound.

I actually like this Nowegian Wood better than the heavier thump, more technique Wooten-y version.

To me tone and groove are WAY more important than "Look what I can do that you can't." And I really liked this guys tone and groove.

MY bass teacher actually plays bass; it's his primary instrument

Here are some audio samples of technique he teaches at a more advanced level AFTER going over (assuming the person already knows how to hold and play the bass [in this order]) keeping in time, technique, and music theory (he actually teaches through sheet music. ).

I've been playing for about 3/4 of a year (I've taken lessons prior to having him as a teacher. My previous teacher also taught through sheet music.) and I've had him as a teacher for about a month, and I'm going to be playing my first (lesson related) song next week; Another Brick In The Wall (part 2). He says it'll help to develop a better sense of rhythm.

Since having him as a teacher, my playing ability has skyrocketed. My form is a lot more consistent and I find playing a good bit easier, although I'm still where I have been for the past couple of months tempo-wise (which isn't a bad thing, of course. 120 bpm is fast enough for me.).
