We call that "Crop Dusting" in Texas.Too old to care about farting during practice.
Did that Saturday morning almost. Got home at 4 AM, bed by 5AM, up at 10 AM = zombie day.To old to be getting home as the Sun is coming up! Ouch.
You may want to start taking ginkgo bilboa already.Funny you say that, I was just talking about this the other day. When I was in my teens/20s, I would learn a song and remember it forever. I still remember most of the songs I used to know from that time. But now I'm in my 30s, and if I spend an hour learning a song, I'll seriously forget it the next day. If I tried to learn the guitar part for Stairway to Heaven now, for example, I'd need the tabs in front of me everytime. But since I learned how to play it when I was a teenager, I remember every note and nuance.
If you haven't already, I'll crank it up now.Talking about too old .... how about starting a thread of then and now pictures ?
Anyone interested ?
Done it the Off Topic forum.Talking about too old .... how about starting a thread of then and now pictures ?
Anyone interested ?
Already started in Off TopicYeah, I'd do that. Moved from Virginia to Washington state this year and in the process found some old pictures of playing in a group in the early 70's. Was based in California but toured as far away as Michigan. So I actually have old "double knit" pictures. Don't have much of anything current, but I've got the old ones and they are pretty funny! So start one up and I'll post a couple.
Well, that depends.I'm too old to get through the set without needing to pee.
Too Old to...
I've been playing bass for some decades now. I'm old enough to retire from my day job. I'm in two bands. I play bass every week. Made some cash. Had (have!) a great time. Learned some things.
As I get less young, I have come to realize that there *are* some things I'm too old for - so thought I'd start a thread.
I'm too old to play music with people I don't like
I'm too old to drive 100 miles on a Wednesday night for a rehersal (adios third band).
I'm too old to play a gig that starts at 10:00 P.M.
I'm too old to look forward to getting music catalogs in my mailbox.
I'm too old to worry about my onstage "moves"
I'm too old to worry about my off-stage moves, too
I'm too old to only play "hip" music
I'm too old to worry about that last clinker - or my next
I'm too old to look forward to breaking in the new drummer. Sigh.
I'm too old to put up with players that don't get it - unless they're still too young to know what "it" is. Nah. Too old for that too.
That's my list. You vets, what's on your list?[/QUO
.
This is still a thing?I'm too old to look forward to getting music catalogs in my mailbox.
Is it coincidence that on the majority of the photos of respondents to this thread they are playing Precisions? Are they to old to try a new bass?
Well, that depends.
