The first kid is awkward. He definitely is trying to win some cool points with the other kids at school. Children do stupid but adorable things like that. It's possible he cleared that with his mom or dad first. Otherwise I'm sure he'll get an earful later and learn a lesson.

The second group of guys reminded me of the things bored rural kids do for fun. It's still not as funny as some of those kids think it is. I guess it's better than drinking and fighting.
