In a zombie attack...

OK. Definitely want to bring a flame thrower, if not, a zippo at least by my side to get creative.

Now, OK, setting the zombies directly on fire won't do much, but you have to think of the possibilities once you have the zombies trapped in a certain area or house, or creating barricades of fire etc. Remember, they're slow and stupid. You could easily lead a bunch into a house that you've already locked up bar your escape, then take the one exit, barricade and have fun.

If not i'd definitely be using some sort of light machine gun. I'm no gun expert, but something that can be moved around my base easily (ie. room to room). I'd just put a crate of ammo in various rooms where i'm held up.

Apart from those two, i'd just carry around an AK or SMG of some sort. You can get some pretty compact SMG's with the power of a rifle nowadays so that'd be good.

Any pistol really.. Probably prefer a revolver but wouldn't say no to a semi auto.

As for the melee weapon.. It'd have to be a hatchet/axe I think. Something that you can use against the zombies, but also helpful in other situations such as getting through locked doors.

I can't imagine a crowbar being helpful once it got stuck in their brain.

Here's a quick schematic of an idea that I'm working on.
Lasers are VERY effective against zombies, lasers mounted on man-eating sharks are dynamite!
I'm just having a little bit of trouble with the logistics... any suggestions would be most helpful.

edit - oh yeah, anyone know when I can get live sharks for cheap? I've been going through a lot lately.

Well, first thing we'd need to do is excavate a massive network of "shark canals" throughout the entire U.S. . Then we would need to release the sharks in enough quantity to fend off any zombie invasion. Remember, zomibes can walk underwater, because they have no need to breathe (except to produce their signature moans). the last thing we need is sharks getting bitten. THEN, we'd have ZOMBIE SHARKS WITH LASERS ON THEIR FOREHEADS!!!

EDIT: meh, I wouldn't use a minigun. It takes all of the sport out of killing zombies.

this is why I'd use some sort of bladed weapon. (Katana ideally)

You see I don't think it's that easy. A katana isn't going to slice through everything like that cartoon, and what happens when you thrust it into a zombie and can't get it back out? All you need is a good whack on the head to get them, so a bat would have less issues I think.
Maybe even some sort of mace?

A mace would be more likely to get stuck than anything, in addition to being hard to find- they have a lot of little flanges that could easily get caught.. I wouldn't be stabbing any zombies with a katana- they were designed as slashing weapons. Anyway, as long as the blade has a good bloodgroove (filler, I think it's called?) it wouldn't get stuck in the first place.

Many don't think about it, but the ultimate anti-zombie weapon is robots. Just think about it.

If only the government would accept my detailed plans on how to effectively control a zombie outbreak with remote control machines from a remote bunker. No person would come in harms way and the robotic vehicles could even be used to safely resupply the bunker while they systematically eliminate every zombie.

How would that be fun?

I can see that from your posts.:p

Are you allright?;)

And we have live sharks here in one of our malls, they're small but they have teeht nontheless.Pm me if interested.
Or you can grab a fishing rod and hire a boat, there're sharks everywhere in USA as I've seen on TV.:D

You don't need maximum penetration for zombies. You need slower sloppier bullets.

.45 .357 .44 etc.

It's not for the manliness of carrying the bigger guns. You need to make a damn good mess of their rotten dead zombie brains instantly. You get something that's going to pass clean through and it won't register for 30 minutes that they've been shot clean through. You need something that turns what's left to mostly liquid.

Nothing else is going to register. Even slicing their head in half from top to neck might not do it efficiently.

Gotta tell you, most of you guys are doomed.

Can't watch at work. I'll have to get back to you later.

If it makes a big hole it's good.

If you can maneuver around with it and it makes a big hole it's even better.

FWIW and not necessarily at you MG, I don't think that shooting at zombies at long range is the best policy. Blowing them to bits or setting them aflame from long distance is much more effective. ;)

I don't think that a sniper rifle would be a great deal of use in a city. At least, not in a British city - we don't tend to have quite so many long straight roads as in America.

I will therefore be taking an AK-47 as my primary weapon - Reasonably accurate, reliable, easy to find ammo for. Used mainly for picking off zombies as they approach the building I'm hiding in.

P90 as my second weapon - large clips and high rate of fire as well as being compact, used mainly for when the zombies are bunched up outside my building, and for defence inside the building once they break through the barricades.

SPAS-12 (or similar semi-auto combat shotgun) for close range. Why take a pistol? Once the zombies are close enough for a pistol they're close enough for a shotgun.

For close combat, I'm going to have to take the Slayer Scythe from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It has an axe head, a wooden stake (also useful in the event of vampires) and a mace head. Its like 3 weapons in 1.

That's some pretty awesome goldeneye weaponry identification fail right there! That's remote mines, the proximity ones are yellow, the golden gun, not a golden pp7 which was far more useful due to it's 7 round clip, and a rocket launcher!

Happynoj, you're staying in the city? I'll be away to the peak district as fast as my little legs can carry me! Hole myself up in a little country pub or farmhouse, much safer than a well populated area, although I like the lake idea very much...
