Are any of your bandmates or musical collaborators your close friends?

When I was in a band, the Drummer was my best friend in the world, Dave. You actually might know him Kess. Last I heard, he lived in Santa Cruz. David Eshelman, NOT the famous teacher/musician there in Santa Cruz One of the kindest humans it was my pleasure to know and the best drummer I ever played with.

What kind of pet do you prefer, and why?

Dogs, because for the most part I understand them. Basset hounds in particular because I've had them all my life. The first was only 1 month and 3 days younger than me. Current dogs are 4 & 5 years old.

Do you sight read, play by ear, use chord charts, or use tabs? Or more than one? And, if more than one, which do you prefer?

I read, not well but well enough to get by. I don't get called for it much on gigs. I can definitely play from chord charts, and I can definitely play by ear, either learning tunes by ear or, depending on the tune, simply following.
I prefer... not reading.

We had two lhasa apsos dogs for 13/15 years. They passed on several years ago. No pets now.

Man, that is a tough question. I have so many things I love to do, but if cornered and my life was on the line...

I'd like to be a song writer that had such pull ( trust ) with the artists that I could get the voices ( artists ) for the song that I hear in my head when I create them.

I've written a few songs, it's a bit of a long process for me for some stupid reason, I think the first one was called "the grand pineapplestein" when I was 17, and I just finished writing one this morning called "stupid cliche". I've got all of the song down, but the lyrics are going to need some work.
