"intresting" design

hi.

I need to help to find some brands who make intresting designs, a The Warwick Buzzard, (that still make that kinda basses, both alembic and Status graphite dont make it anymore)

i know, i know "You shouldnt go after design" the truth is, i have a G&L L2000 wich goes for all my practical needs, and does it better than anything else i could get (preferably i would get a buzzard with G&L #8 neck and electronics), now i just want something that looks... special..

got any ideas? a regular "gibson Explorer design" is to boring again, and BC Rich is just plain ugly :p

price range? around 2000 dollar.

Alan's a really nice guy with some really cool original designs and unique ideas.

Well give Alan a shout, he might be happy to work out something out with you design wise, might be an interesting project.

Also, there's RIM Basses, another UK builder (Link Removed).
Again, Robbie's really nice guy too, builds some really wild looking basses, thought they might be too organic looking but forgot about his one >>

hmmm.. maby i will... is it very expensive..

Im very picky :p i have falled in love with James Lomenzo's "Bloody red" Warwick Buzzard, but again, i have heard alot a crap about Warwick's buzzards, them not being any good and on and on...

and im a rock player, where my main band is Metal, i can NOT show up with a singlecut bass :p (not that i like the looks of em anyway..)

Maby i should go warmoth Explorer?

I'm pretty sure that both AC Guitars and RIM Basses would be able to do something within your budget. Shipping to Norway from the UK wouldn't be too bad either compared to shipping from the states.
Best drop them an e-mail and see what they can do.

If you're considering the Warmoth route, I'd have a chat with Nino Valenti of Valenti Basses (www.valentibasses.com).
He assembles and finishes complete basses from Warmoth parts, and from what I hear does an incredible job of it! If all the parts are sourceable from Warmoth, he might be able to help you out.

Another thing you could do would be maybe posting this in the Luthier's Forum, see if anyone luthiers have any ideas or suggestions for you, not sure if they're allowed to bid for work in there though >>

For $2000?
man, I'd get a custom. Make it as crazy as you want and still get a sweet playing bass out of the deal instead of just something that's wild looking and only plays ok.

Check out Bud Lecompte's stuff, he's got one design that's right up your alley, and he'd probably be willing to go more extreme with you if you want.

Good call klocwerk,
I'd forgotten about LeCompte basses, they're well cool, and might be right up your street for a more extreme looking instrument.

Maybe the one on the right in black with pinstriping might catch your eye.

These are amazing sounding basses! I tried most of these at the last ATL GTG, and they are incredibly easy to play! Prices are very reasonable for this kind of quality work.

I believe the black one's taken though.
