I felt the sadness in that song. And the playing is beautiful.

Looking forward, brother. Always looking forward....

Definitely a sadness to it. I was kinda reflecting on this whole mess with my hearing while playing, and just went with it. I used Jamup's sampler to do the rhythm, then played overtop it while recording both at once to MTDAW, via Audiobus. All one track in MTDAW, no extra processing.

Howdy boys,
Had an extra hour or two today to throw down another of my ditties, I suppose it will have to do for my contest entry, although its definitely more of a jam than a full song.

Ok here's the track of shame :)
Like I said before I'm no evangellos....the latest he did with "my blues serves me right" is killer

Use headphones or in ears or car stereo and CRANK IT!

I've notice not many lyrical songs.
guys what's up?

Mine was 6 tracks
1. Rip made the drum track in GarageBand
2. rhythm guitar track- amplitube slash amp AFD 100 into the slash 4x12 cab into the u87 mic
3. Vocal 1
4. Vocal 2 both with Neumann TLM 103 (new transformer-less version of u87)
5. Bass track- jamup blueline into 4 band EQ pedal into LA compressor rack
6. Lead solo guitar at end- jamup red compressor pedal into the 5153 amp into orange phaser into digi delay pedal into digi reverb pedal
Mixed and mastered in MT Daw

How will we vote on these?
Will we all get two/three favorites in a poll format like last contest?

This is amazing.

I am stunned...

...it just kept getting better and better.

I noticed my bass and drum kicks were overpowering on the low end before my final mix. It sounded great in my in ears....then I played it in my wife's van it was overrunning the mix. So I cut the bass and drums in the low end to better sit in the song and allow the volume to be turned up overall. I did post my pre mastering and pre EQing on SC i do like it better but the other will play nice with others (cars, stereos, etc.)

I actually sat in the van and mastered with the volume maxed :)

Thanks solar....I really appreciate it.
I thought I was just gonna help rip but he ended up doing my drum track.

I really am loving all the songs so far it will be tough to vote for my favorite one.

We need an anonymous poll again like last time where we pick our favorite two or something.

Are we going with the deadline of 12:00am eastern time zone?

I wasn't thrilled with the first one, so I did another take, but going in a slightly different direction (still can't shake the blues progression). I was still diggin the tone and the delay. So I would like to offer this one instead of the other. Less busy drums too. Nothing like makin' it up on the fly (that's called improvisation, or so I've heard).

I guess someone needs to set up a voting thread? Any volunteers?

First we need to figure out everyone that submitted an entry.

I know Rude Duke have a couple, rolandm has a couple, Holdsg has a couple (even though under two minutes, we need all the entries we can get!), adambomb has one (with Rip on drums), and I have one.

I hope I didn't miss anyone, so chime in now if I did!

I went back and found this.
preito made his here for the "virtual hot sounds cook off challenge"
http://www.surveymonkey.com
i'm at work right now and cant make it up at the moment but it is free for anyone want ing to sign up and log in :)

Hello Adam! (et al)

Yes, the virtual cook-off challenge survey was hosted in SurveyMonkey. It's easy to sign up (and free), or, if you prefer, I can create one (to sort of keep all the results of contests in one location). I'm at work, but if y'all want me to I can create a survey pointing to the entries in SC later on tonight.

That would be awesome if you could do that!

And I'm sorry, I forgot about our brother Rip who has at least one clip up here that we can include!

Did I miss anyone who put up a clip?
