I've been there too. Last gig I played was at Wellesley College. We played five original songs and had pretty good interest from the audience. Then the guitarist decided we should play Hendrix and Zeppelin.

One of my guests (that have yet to leave) plays guitar. Really great player.

I threw my bass lines at him for my entry thinking he could add the guitar. He did some funky stuff, but the problem was that my bass line "has some serious flaws"

LOL! I love flawed stuff! Including bass lines and Humans!

I wish I had something, but I suck so bad so I don't have anything to submit. :D

Turns out the person I was counting on to do the recording/mixing (my son) was too busy with (Summer) finals and I couldn't recruit him. He was going to lay down some beats and record the guitar parts. I don't have the ears for that kind of stuff.

But, be patient with me, and some day I will repay you all. :)

Yep. That is the truth.

I'm pretty much done too. Now going to ruin it with my guitar!

And maybe some more percussion. And maybe some strings. And maybe...Done!

I won't be able to enter this one, thanks to the damage to my hearing a couple weeks back, but I'll be checking out all the entrees as they come in!!

I was doing a little jamming this morning, using the looper/sampler in Jamup. Up to now I haven't really spent much time with it, but I was having a blast fiddling around over a simple rhythm part I played. Might end up as part of a future recording.

Unfortunately, everything still has a tinge of distortion to it, and listening or playing music is really fatiguing to the ears. I'm gradually trying to play more, but up till today most of my playing has just been unplugged and simple patterns to keep the muscle memory and not lose my chops. Actually making music is going to take some adjustment.

But I can't wait to hear what everyone has done!! Bring em on!! :)

Maybe a bunch of folks are going to be late. I know Gary couldn't make the deadline and I don't feel anyone can truly "win" if we don't have a full representation of all the talent on this thread.

You are the Boss on this contest rules, but extend it for a week? Maybe?

Mine was 6 tracks
1. Rip made the drum track in GarageBand
2. rhythm guitar track- amplitube slash amp AFD 100 into the slash 4x12 cab into the u87 mic
3. Vocal 1
4. Vocal 2 both with Neumann TLM 103 (new transformer-less version of u87)
5. Bass track- jamup blueline into 4 band EQ pedal into LA compressor rack
6. Lead solo guitar at end- jamup red compressor pedal into the 5153 amp into orange phaser into digi delay pedal into digi reverb pedal
Mixed and mastered in MT Daw

How will we vote on these?
Will we all get two/three favorites in a poll format like last contest?
