I'm going to have to try and write an app for gigging. No one makes what I need.

One of my majors was CS and CE, so at one time, I could code my way out of a paper bag. But... that was a LONG 20+ years ago.

I need an app that has Virtual MIDI, Network MIDI, CoreMIDI, and MIDI clock send/receive, and these core features:
- Allows user to create and save 'songs' that hold MIDI information required to actually start playing 'songs'
- Allow user to create a 'Play List' of 'songs'
- At the beginning of each song, send MIDI information to MIDI hardware and software apps.
- Able to start sequencers, DAWs, and/or drum machines, via MIDI, that actually play the 'songs'.
- Able to set a pause for 0-99 seconds between songs
- Able to pause and wait for a trigger from the user (MIDI command of some kind)

Sounds easy, right?
I guess I'll need to find an app writing forum, but I'm not sure I'll find one with MIDI experience. It's the MIDI that's going to be the butt kicker.

Behringer makes an IO Dock clone I think, don't know if it's good.

Yeah, I was eyeballing it up a bit. Behringer is so hit or miss though. Going to research that one a little more. Does have nice knobs on the front that I assume are midi mappable.

I use the iodock a couple times a week for practice. Haven't noticed any issues since ios 5.1

Hey man, which iPad and ios are you using?

I have a 2. The iodock was made for ipad1 and has adapter inserts for 2 or 3. It has a 30 pin connector, so 4 or 5 won't fit, though you could probably rig up something that would hold a mini. I'm using iOS 7.0.3

I use the io dock with an iPad 3. It is a little bit of a goofy fit that I have to jiggle it to make a solid connection. Once it's in it is fine. I love it, jam up, audio technica headphones, bass and I have a great practice setup. It has stereo out for live use. Haven't used the midi for anything.

You have a Mac, right? Not coding for 20 years no problem, if you learned C then objective-C will come quickly. Apple developer has lots of good info. There's also a course from Stanford starting up in iTunes U that will give you Xcode and iOS 7 programming from the ground up.

I am sure this has been asked but is there a difference between Jamup XT and Jamup XT Pro? I have the normal Jamup Xt but could not see any difference in the Pro version other than cost and you get more amps all at once instead of buying everything as you feel like it. Did not know if there is some kind of majical sound quality difference?

Popup in JamUp today said it'll be completely integrated with JamUp too - should be interesting, although I suspect there'll be a wait for bass models.

I was messing around in Ampkit last night and I somehow deleted the Alt Drum sample they have (my favorite). How do I get it back?

I don't think it'll matter, bass or guitar. What I'm seeing is something that is far more versatile than a simple amp model.

I don't believe there's been any updates in a long while, over a year, so I would say no. I consider mine a paperweight really, and I don't even want to think about what happens after an iOS 7 upgrade.

I'm currently using an iO dock with iPad 2 on iOS 6 (not sure what version exactly). My signal chain is JamUp -> Turnado through Audiobus and I'm using the HotHandUSB to control Turnado.

Sometimes I get crackle. I close all my apps and restart and it seems fine. Here's a recording I made directly OUT of the iO dock, I plugged the out jack to my H4n:

So guys, Bias is announced by PositiveGrid.
The app is amazing, really a breakthrough in amp emulation. Bias kind of put Amplitube Desktop into the archive regarding flexibility and possibilities. And the tone is open, clear, real tube breakup.

But, don't worried bass amps will be available. You know some of the models, but now they will sound better and you will be able to look and adjust the internals!
