I love my Oxide. Might be the only pedal I would never sell under any circumstances. I can never imagine a board setup that does not have it on there. That morph knob is magical.
Stop making me GAS for more fuzzes when I've got a DOOM 2 mounted happily on my board!

It's the best brassmaster I've played, yet to try a new BEAD, and the maestro is smoother, and the oxide can also not be so gnarly like everyone states, but it has won me over every other mid focused fuzz I've played, only other one I run now is the wizard fuzz
Why there isn't more Overdrive pedals with multiple bands, that you select, that in turn focus your clip, is beyond me. Clipping characteristics aside, you could literally build your perfect OD
The BEAD was all uncontrollable fizz for me, not what I wanted at all. The Oxide is actually my second favourite after the Latent Lemon but that one is just too big to fit on my board.
My next choice would be the Fenris (which comes pretty close to the Oxide) and then the Doom 2 with the Maestro being dead last of all the ones I've had. The Maestro just didn't sound anything like what I was expecting.
The Oxide is one of my very favorite fuzz pedals and is the fuzz that currently holds the fuzz chair on my doomtronica board. The Blue Beard is my other favorite fuzz pedal.
I forget when I had the fenris, I think I had a Doom 2 then and really had to think, Doom won but I looked at the Fjord as way more flexible, never seen controls like what it had. Something different.
The Oxide is waaay more fun... the Doom 2 is great as a harmonic booster to stack w/ other effects for that low gain synth vibe but its a tame fuzz & just not capable of anything heavy... the Oxide can be tight & synthy or unbridled & nasty
Honestly with my You're Doom, I could glue the knobs and switch in place and I wouldn't even notice. To me it is for one sound, and it's an awesome one. I get the sense the Oxide is rawer and more versatile.
I’ve recently added my older(2015) Polytope pedal to one of my boards for a new project.
I haven’t used it in a few years and I’m having fun rediscovering its functions. When I visited the Iron Ether website to reread the manual I noticed there is a newer version with three switches.
I’m just wondering what the main differences are between the two versions of the pedal?

With my FMeron scheduled for delivery tomorrow, I thought I should explore further, the Arcing Prisms. If, in the unlikely event I choose to sell my AP, it wouldn’t be for another 4 or 5 years. That’ll be the minimum time for full comprehension. It’s very engrossing.
The 3rd switch on the newer version switches the Filter control between Hi and Lo Pass. The older one just has the Hi pass.
I also have an older one without the 3rd switch, but I find that the Hi Pass Filter is one of the best features of the Poly, so I don't really miss having the extra switch.
