I can't wait to run the FMeron into the Arcing Prisms tomorrow. And regardless of if I like the combo or not the AP will not be going anywhere, that pedal is so musical and usable for so many applications. Obviously not too much for if you're only in a cover band, but if you're doing your own thing it is almost a necessity.
Luckily I play in a Grateful Dead tribute band, so there are a few opportunities every gig for these to get some air time.
I admit to just signing up on the email list for the AC.

Arcing Prisms can be a nice flange on the tamest settings, that can be worked in pretty easily. But I see what you're saying, the majority of Iron Ether pedals are that way, if you really think about it, even the Oxide is off the beaten path.
Arcing Prisms can do SO many different roles, I don't even find myself using my chorus anymore. Not sure if the AP is doing that, but it can satisfy that mod itch in spades. Still trying to work in the fast delay/slightly detuned effect though, I mean for anything other than a alien spaceship

I got a 5 knob Frantabit the other day (thx @Dr Greenthumb !) - before I got it I really didn't understand what it did, I used to think "why would I want to lower the sample rate of my bass and make it sound like doody?"... and after playing with it for a while with a expression pedal I think I get it, and its an amazing pedal.
It def fits in best with a synth type setup - I put it after the Dubterrenea and before any dist and filter (XD) and it can give a really grindy synthy tone to whatever you put thru it, it will turn your straight sound into a synth sound as well. the expression pedal makes it so it goes from almost unaltered to fizzy synthy sound that is really cool.
from the manual:
"Samples: This control allows the user to lower the sample rate of the analog-to-digital conversion from 32khz down to <100hz, creating so-called aliasing effects – frequencies from the instrument begin to “fold” back downward, creating new harmonics and subharmonics. The frequency response is lowered as sample rate lowers, but instead of simply removing higher frequencies, they are mirrored back downward, to create strange harmonies and overtones."

I have the top row shown in a effects loop from a wounded paw effects loop blender, it lets me go from straight tone to blending in as much synth as i want... and as a warning this is what happens to a pedalboard that hasn't moved in 6 months:

I see your JC Wah in that photo, which is also great for synth/filter stuff. Since you have both, I'm curious... How does the filter on the JC Wah compare to the XD? I got in on the preorder for XDs and am thinking about replacing the JC with it and a small exp pedal... even having both would take up about half the space of the JC wah. That chonker demands a good amount of pedalboard real estate.

The XD has the widest sweep of any filter I've tried & pairing it with an octave, dirt, & other effects accompanied with an expression pedals opens up a vast array of sonic possibilities, you will not be disappointed
Couple reasons I like having both the XD and the JC wah:
- I always have the distortion enabled in the JC wah, which the XD doesn't have - you could have a dist pedal before it, but its not quite the same.
- the XD has 2 modes - an auto-wah mode (where input triggers the filter) and a mode where the expression pedal sets hte frequency.. i've used an expression pedal on the XD and it works really well, but when I flip between modes i find i have to tweak the knobs a bit to get it really dialed in, so i generally keep the XD on the auto-wah mode.
the only filter i like more then the XD is the one on the Moog Minitaur, but its a pain to use (i'm not a big fan of the Moog filter pedal). I love the XD - it takes a while to learn it but its amazing...

Some good points. I've always got the fuzz engaged on the Chancellor as well. Stuff to think about while I forget I preordered the XD and it mysteriously shows up in the mail one day in the future.

Bit crusher sounds great in front of the XD as well, I love making my bass "talk" with the XD
Does anyone have an audio sample of this? I love doing octave --> fuzz --> XD, but I've been thinking about adding in a Frantabit as well to have a different sort of synth sound. I've never used a bitcrusher pedal so I'm not entirely sure what to expect when combined with an octave and filter.
I didn't know what to think either, reading what they do is interesting but hardly describes what it will sound like, aside from "video game like..". My first was the newest Frantabit, and it did sound cool. Each step you resample or crush has a different sound and tone. Some steps even have what sounds like another channel, or carrier that pairs with your tone. It can be from a buzzy tone, all the way to a synthy fuzz, but with much more punch, digital sound. It has a natural gate, and there isn't harmonics flying around like some fuzz pedals. It reacts and triggers the XD about the same as a typical fuzz, just with more punch and authority. I was given an amazing opportunity to snag a Dream Crusher, sounds amazing, simple to run, so I have moved on with the Frantabit, but it is a great pedal.
If I ever get my rig up to my interface I'll put one up, I have a laundry list of clips people have requested on gear..
Hey it looks like the Tap Tempo Tremolo is back up on [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. For anyone else jonesing for a Cygnet, this is the same board, designed by Taylor, but now with an updated TAPFLO chip capable of 8 extra waveforms.
Has anyone had experience building this? Would it fit in a 1590bb enclosure?

I ended up buying that Subterranea and two Xerograph Deluxe pedals from the Seller (older and newer designs). You're absolutely right about the offer. He put together a pretty great package deal for me for the three pedals. Also, the Sub is in much better shape than it appeared to be in the listing and everything sounds fantastic (as one would expect from anything Iron Ether).
Guess I missed out then... my loss, your gain, and I guess I'm still on the lookout for a Subterranea. I wouldn't have bit on the two XDs though, as I'm in the preorder for the next batch.

If you go to the filters and change the Ships To option to read Everywhere then you should see the pedals for sale.
