Hi all, what are your favorite expression pedals to use with the Xerograph Deluxe?
Currently, I'm using a Dunlop DVP4 which is great but a little small. I have a Moog EP3 as well, the only problem is: at the very top of the sweep the EP3 has this lurch into the sound (with the xerograph) that I'm not a fan of.

Moog EP-3 here. Not experiencing the lurching you're describing. Would actually like a DVP4 as a smaller alternative.

I have a DVP4, started out with it. Amazingly smooth action, wish I used it more. I used to couple it with a expressionator from mission, and that would be decent. After reading, researching, the SA Reflex is the absolute for this role. The XD is more adjustable on its end though, helping exp pedals which don't have an adjustable range, so my Dunlop was alright with it, but still no fine tuning. Where the Reflex really shines is with something like the 3leaf filters, there's some dead range within its expression, and I simply dial that right out, transforming the envelope operation.
I currently have my Reflex controlling my Arcing Prisms, XD, and Chromatron. I finally used all the outputs, it's freaking sweet. The choices of LFO is probably my fav feature when using the IE gear with it though, each output can be clocked differently to react differently with the next, Iron Ether pedals eat that up.
If I could add the new tech under the Dunlop into the Reflex, it would be the ultimate expression pedal. I know they're hard to find, but worth the wait and trouble, built pretty well too.

I don't know why the EP3 acts this way with the Xerograph, it's the very top of the sweep and the best way I can describe it is a "lurch". The DVP4 is an even sweep all the way through.
Conversely the EP3 works perfectly with the Dr Scientist Dusk. Maybe I should switch the polarity.

The Ep3 may be logarithmic, and the Dunlop linear taper - log(audio) taper won't be, well linear/straight with the progression of the expression, it will have a point where less movement=more, and a point where it's the opposite. Linear will be equally expressive from heal to toe. Some pedals can change this taper type, some can't. Also you need to pay attention to the impedance of the exp pedal, different impedances can react differently. All of the above is why you'll hear a builder sometimes recommend a particular expression pedal, when setting up there exp I/O they may have a favorite in mind, or at least what they use. There's a even more progressive type I have yet to use, CV expression, that uses an active signal apposed to all the passive expression, like IE has. (do not get these two signals mixed up though, it can damage each end)
I use linear the most when playing the XD, and the exp on the XD as well for fine tuning the heal portion of my expression.
I think you might be right about the expression curves, that would make sense! I'm not sure if this is how it works.. But I think the Moog EP3 works really well with the Dr Scientist Dusk because: the EP3 sends CV and the Dusk accepts it. (Could be wrong)
The DVP4 seemed to cut off a bit of the full range of the dusk, but then it opens up the Xerograph entirely... expression pedal madness!
I know I keep pushing the elusive Reflex, but I really studied this for while, when I was waiting for a Reflex to surface.
The manual alone talks about all the different kinds of expression pedals, and what does what. Definitely worth the read, if anything -
