On the subject of global warming...
Bass players = right.
Scientists = wrong.
Makes sense to me.
I'll rely on bass players to explain how groove works, I'll trust scientists to be more learned on matters of nature.

I defer to experts when I am above my pay grade. A good deal of science is admittedly above my pay grade. The difference between me and a good number of others is I seem to be aware when I am in above my pay grade.
Solar radiation is above my pay grade. I suspect it's above the pay grade of most in this thread.

The real question is: how do we keep the neck on our basses straight as our Earth's weather goes wacko? Do I need more graphite rods stuffed into it? Do I need more than a five piece maple neck with the wood grains oriented in every possible direction? Should I cave in and go carbon fiber? Or shall I revive the old quarter sawn vs. flat sawn argument?

I think it's kind of funny whenever someone thinks the "conspirators" of Global Climate Change are in it for the money because there's so much to be made in renewable/cleaner energy. Big Oil would never fib on a grand scale about Climate Change in order to continue to be the most profitable corporations in the history of the world. Nah.
Isn't money to be made in alternative energy if you take away the subsidies. There is however enormous amouts of regulatory control over the populace to be gained as well as billions to be made trading "carbon credits".
As with anything.....follow the money.

Yes. Money rules everything. That's why they're motivating consumers to spend it in a way that more accurately reflects long term expenses.
If Yosemite doesn't have a super eruption it will matter still.
Well we have from now to in about a 100 000 years to worry about it. At least that's what they say. Ill take my chances that out of those 100 000 years Yellowstone chooses one of the 99 950 i'm for sure not gonna get to live to erupt.
As a geologist, I find it hard to imagine Yosemite having any sort of eruption. No volcanoes there.
Those are lobbying expenditures. You don't have to lobby much when your agenda is already being pushed worldwide.
Not saying big oil is the one true way either. Lots of BS on all sides.
