I missed it too. He made me look up eschew though and here is what I found:

Hmmm, still not clear what he meant.

He quoted my post with a response that didn't seem to understand what I was trying to say.

For the sake of clarity, my post was meant as a comparison to the contentiousness of climate change discussions to those of politics or religion.

Hmmm, still not clear what he meant.

I took it to be a shot at some acedemics for eschewing religion in order for themselves to feel "intellectually superior" to religious people.

Ie: believing in "hard science" rather than "fairytales".

More polarizing the discussion toward the extremes or attacking the messenger rather than the idea.

I think it is important to point out that unlike the two banned topics, science has an established method for determining "right" and "wrong." Climate change is not something that is really up to debate.
