Is In-n-Out Burger THIS good?

Did you see the video? The drive thru line was literally a mile long. 10 cars in line is normal lunch or dinner time (usually they have 2 lines, at least in the more old school chains), but yes, it does move quickly considering they grill your burger up fresh when you order it.

Well, the pizza joints are great, but you have to wait for the pies to cook. Well worth it, but I don't always have the time--and sometimes you want a burger, y'know? Portillo's is downtown; I haven't tried the burger yet.

I can walk to this new Five Guys in 5 minutes, so the bar is lower.:D

Haven't been to the west coast, so never had In-N-Out...however here in NYC we got Shake Shack. By far one of the tastiest burgers I've ever had. Their shakes are out of this world too...the Black and White one is my favorite. The fries alone are just okay...I always get the cheese fries though which are amazing.

BTW I also love Five Guys...I really can't choose one as a favorite! But I will say Five Guys fries are better IMO :)

I was somewhat disappointed by In-N-Out when I went to LA. It was my first time to CA and the hype on the burgers was huge. Not to say it wasn't good, but I wasn't overly impressed. I actually found El Pollo Loco to be an awesome surprise though!

Five Guys is great, as previously mentioned. I feel like it's slightly healthier than some other places and it has ultimate customization. Never had Shake Shack, but their food looks like a heart attack and a half! Tempts me to try it.

I have yet to have a burger from in-n-out. However, in 1 month and 2-3 days that will have changed.

I do enjoy 5 guys, but if you want a good, cheap burger there's a place called The Milkplant up in the Adirondacks somewhere. Burger and a beer is something like $3, and its a DANG good burger.

So I went by Five Guys on the way home from work. The burger was very good for a fast-food place. The fries were alright, I'm sure they would have been better if I'd eaten there (I got my food 5 minutes before closing time, and I hate eating while workers are trying to clean up and get out). $11.50 for a burger, fries and soda was pricey. The deal would have been better if I hadn't gone solo, since they give you enough fries for at least two people.

A better deal, in my opinion, is The Counter. The burgers are great, and the number of customization options is totally nuts here. Granted, it's a sit-down place, but the price for a burger, fries and soda is only $2-3 more than at Five Guys. It's a small chain, and most of the locations are in Cali. But they have one a mile from me in Chicago. Anyone out there ever try them?

Thanks for making me super hungry before bed guys. We don't have In-n-out or any of the other stuff mentioned except for 5 guys in my state and it's pretty meh IMO. The only cool thing about 5 guys is the number of toppings you can choose from and the entertainment value of getting a whole paper grocery bag full of fries from one order.

I think I'll be grabbing an awesome burger or runza from Runza for lunch tomorrow! How's that for regionally esoteric? Every little town in all of Nebraska has one, but there's maybe 3 nationwide outside of the state. A lot of natives that move out of state buy boxes of frozen Runzas to take back whenever they make a visit to their flat, corn-filled homeland.

I'm going to LA next week to work at the Windpower2011 show, so I'll have to test drive an In and Out burger. Five guys is pretty good, but I'll take a Whataburger anyday.

I've never, ever heard of the counter. Looks pretty interesting

The Counter is awesome.

And In-and-Out is nothing special. The local chain in Seattle, Dick's, is cheaper, tastes better, and pays for their workers to go to college. I do NOT get the hype around In-and-Out.
