Is In-n-Out Burger THIS good?

Burgerville serves microbrew beer and wine at some locations now. The specialty shakes are killer too.

Dick's is cool too, but I burned out on Deluxes after last call many years ago. ;)

I've only been to In-n-Out once, in San Diego. It was fine, about as good as my local dive cardroom bar. I don't do burgers very often when I eat out, just too spoiled by what we make at home. But if there were a local In-n-Out that served at 1AM I'd hit it occasionally. I might hit Dick's next weekend when I'm up in Seattle for the TB GTG.

I spent 6 years living about a mile from the Burgerville right by the Hillsboro, Oregon airport... needless to say, I ate a few.

They are a tiny chain though - basically Portland, Vancouver, and a little way out the Gorge.

No, it is not NEARLY that good. It's just trendy. Just like those stupid rock-candy coated "Krisy Kreme" donuts were a few years back when you had similar lines. And now a lot of them have gone out of business because the fad faded. It's bandwagon hysteria, like Tickle-Me Elmo was several years back during the holiday season. Plain stupidity.

Now, their burgers aren't bad mind you. They give me the runs so I don't eat them, but they are pretty good for what they are (a dman sight better than typical fast-food burgers). But once you've had REALLY good burgers, In-N-Out almost seem like Fisher-Price "My First Burger" in comparison. But they aren't bad by any means.

This is false. Not the Krispy Kreme fad part, but the part about In-N-Out being one. In-N-Out has been popular for years upon years, and is not going to "fade" any time soon. Sure the crazy busy-ness in that video will die down, but if it takes in Texas, anywhere near like its been in CA, then that location will still be plenty packed come lunch & dinner time. Maybe not a mile long line, but just as busy as any CA location, which get pretty busy.

Good, I'm not the only one. Forgot to mention, I had a shake once and it was really good, too. (I just wanted to die afterwards combined with the burger and fries.) Check it out, MT!:)

They're up to 39 restaurants now, not exactly world domination. The one in the Gorge is about twenty miles from here, just far enough away to keep it from being a regular stop for me. I like the fish a lot more than the burgers there though, FWIW.

Krispy Kreme was popular for years upon years also.

They were founded about 10 years BEFORE In-N-Out (1937 vs. 1948).

They had expanded much further also - by the 1960s Krispy Kreme was in more states than In-N-Out currently is.

...yet they've been fading for several years now. No guarantee it won't happen to In-N-Out.

Speaking of, there was this place in Stevenson we ate at when I was down there years ago. I believe it was called Dees Kitch-In. Is it still around? I remember it being on the river side of the road, and had a nice view.

They had this burger called the kitchen sink if I remember right, and it had pretty much everything they served on it. So good.
