Is Modulus still in Business?

Problem is that their phones are still not working - which is why there is still concern. I also contacted a local dealer and they had no clue and were not able to contact anyone at Modulus either.

Since I live close enough, I have also offered to physically visit their location for the OP.

No matter how anyone tries to spin this, when it comes to Modulus' handling of people that are in the position of the OP, well, it's a VERY bad on Modulus - not responding to general inquiries is one thing (also not good IMO), but completely ignoring people that have their instruments physically in the hands of Modulus is a completely different story, bordering on criminal.

I wouldn't mind if you checked out their place. I placed an order through Bass Central for a custom Q5 on December 28th. Bass Central is claiming that production has ceased and they are finishing only what they started. Modulus is not answering their inquiries either.

I'll be physically visiting their shop next week (probably Wednesday or Thursday) - that's as soon as I can get there. But I am planning to stop by, if nothing more than to just see if anyone is even actually there. I won't bug them if they are - that wouldn't be cool - just a physical verification.

There's a lot of rumors and speculation - we've heard on this post from an endorser (Juaqo) that they are still around - I have personally heard from another endorser the same thing. Something is obviously going on - but to speculate on exactly what that something might be is not going to do anyone any good. Lots of mixed things being said - 2 endorsers saying Modulus is still around, a few dealers saying no more production, and a few dealers that have no idea what's going on - one thing seems to be the common thread - no one can seem to get in touch with them. That about sums it up in a nutshell.

I'd recommend holding off on any more speculation until some sort of concrete news comes out.

It appears that the world suppliers of the CF fabric and strands are at peak production right now. It just that there are too many markets wanting CF right now and in fact that we're in worldwide shortage of CF.

Defense, aeronautical, marine, automotive, and green energy markets take up 98% of the production output. Add to that the Chinese, German, Singaporean, and Italian plants are not operating for three out of the five major producers.

EDIT: I have talking to my friends who work in the composites industry about the shortage of CF and the like materials.

And some in the industry have heard they've already shut their doors and machinery is being sold off, so there's plenty of reason for worry - especially if they have your money or bass.

Someone on the internet just said that some expert said that the builders for modulus have been recruited for a NASA mission to land on an asteroid and blow it up before it destroys Earth. Since Modulus is a worthless brand name and no would ever want to buy it and assume the responsibilities and debt incurred by the company they decided no one would notice if they a steal bunch of money and burn any projects in the work before they leave for their space mission.

Looked like gates on the parking pads. Depending on which suite they're in you may or may not be able to even see if they're open. Probably a phone call would be easier, oh wait. ;-)

Legally, whether through bankruptcy or buy-out, all property of customers would have to be returned - cash is a different story - legally they would owe the person the money, but in the case of BR there may be nothing to return. This is a crappy situation, no matter what is going on. Hopefully this is all just ramped up rumor and nothing really major is happening there.

As the OP of this thread, I thought I owed it to Modulus (specifically Anderson) to update the status of my bass on this thread.....

I spoke to Anderson tonight and my bass is shipping back to me tonight. Joe was there with Anderson giving me some advice on a scratchy pot before my bass was packed up.

I have nothing to say about the above post, but it looks like Anderson and Joe took care of me.

I really appreciate them doing this for me today!

Cheers!

Brent

Awesome!

...but did you get any insight into what's happening?

Congrats my friend, glad it worked out. Did/are they going to give you tracking info? Just so you know it's REALLY on it's way?
