Well it will be awhile before I can switch out the hardware to black, so for now here is my newest acquisition, 2003 Q6 semi-hollow. :bassist:

Any further word from the factory? Anyone drive by there recently?

All I can say is they are not dead. They are taking care of what they currently have, although I do not believe they are taking any new orders at this time. I believe that when they are ready, or are able, there will be some sort of official announcement. Also, as I understand, they are aware of this thread, and other rumors as to their demise - by them knowing that and still not speaking up leads me to believe that they are currently unable to publicly say anything right now, but that is just an educated guess.

I think patience is the best path for us to take right now. The OP got his bass back and I understand there has been some other movement of items from them as well (repairs etc). I'm pretty confident that Modulus will still be around for several more tomorrows.

How do you know they know about the thread? I know they are members on TB, but just curious.

By them not saying anything normally leaves everyone to assume the worst in most cases.

This is a shame. I toured with Modulus basses and never had a problem getting the rep on the phone. They were very good to me, but they never gave an artist discount to anyone. They claimed Flea paid full price, but I'd always LOL when they said that. The pricing was fair though.

The OP got his bass back....

Nope. The Canadian Government didn't like Modulus' paperwork and have been holding the bass since March 28th. I have had dozens of basses shipped to me from the US and this is the first time I have had a bass refused entry into the country.

I might have my bass this or next week but I will almost certainly have a good sized customs bill.

I am tired of the whole 4+ month fiasco. This bass will be in the Classifieds as soon as I receive it.

An artist paying full price is not unusal. Ask Roger Sadowsky about Jason Newsted's basses. I'm sure he own more now but at the time I think he bought 8 at full price and as a gift, Roger made him a 9th one at no cost. He said Jason was a gentleman about the entire thing and never even tried going down the road of "Well you know Im a famous musician, right?...".

And like Flea said; the time when you need the basses free or at a discount is when you are starting out in broke. Not when your a big, pompous rock star and have all the money in the world.
