Well, bought my third pre-owned Q6 online today. Officially flat broke.

Indeed. Its an extremely clean looking 2003 q6 semi hollow, unless UPS breaks it
. I'm having the chrome hardware switched out for black as soon as it gets here. Ill post some before/after pictures when it's done, it's going to be breathtaking

Is that bridge pickup slammed all the way to the bridge? That's not standard placement, is it?
Which begs the question, when all this blows over, do you think I could get the neck pickup in standard position and the bridge pickup in the sweetspot?
Beautiful bass, by the way. And EMGs are the best way to go with a Quantum.
Here are some pics of my Q5 fretless. This is a 19 mm spacing model with a Chechen top. It's a 2012. Hopefully Modulus stays in business so I get it fixed if it ever needs it.

I played Oteil's semi hollow 6er a few years back. I am not a 6 string guy but the bass felt awesome!
Actually, that is the standard pickup placement - I think the exaggerated angle of the photo makes the bridge pickup look closer to the bridge than it really is.
As far as ordering different configurations, I think there's a fairly good chance of it... I've seen a few variations over the years so I know it isn't out of the question.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure my Q5 pickups are in the same spot. I remember noting I thought it was very close to the bridge in regards to typical bridge pickup placement.

the pups might be in the standard placement, but to compensate for the 34" scale, they moved the bridge toward the neck (most probably the neck is the same for the standard 35", they installed the frets in the respective 34" location adding the 25th and 26th frets)…

When I got home last night I took a close look at it, and the bridge pickup does appear to be a bit closer than a standard Q5. I think maurilio is on the right track, but they do use a different mold for the 34" scale necks (I know because my bass broke the mold, and I had to wait for a new mold to be built, then another neck from scratch). Maybe the answer is a combination of both ideas: a slightly shorter neck and a slightly shifted bridge?
Not sure if this is still the case, but when the Quantum-n TBX models were first introduced in the early 90s they proudly sported an asymmetric neck profile designed by Michael Tobias.
