It was a hoot. A good time was had by all. Well, almost everyone.

M. M. :)

hahaa! thank you so much, im really gonna enjoy reading through this. i spit out the eggs i was eating when i came upon this gem by KJung "Hard to really know what is going on with Fender. I heard one guy swear they are eliminating all J basses from their line because 'P Basses rule'. Then, another guy said they were eliminating all P Basses from their line. He had heard that the reason was that 'J Basses rule'." thats just good old fashioned right there

The problem is that TB is also indexed by search engines. People can find bits of threads and jump into the middle of a discussion. When it's something as serious as a company's future or reputation, you really have to be careful what you post on the Internet.

+1 - you would have thought it would be moderated to avoid potential litigation against the forum owners. People in the employ of competitors could post deliberately.

Modulus wasn't in the Namm Show January 2013, I've looked everywhere!! Even asked the complete alphabetic list of all brands

It's possible they are out of business, if that's the case, this is really sad, I love their Quantum series! :(

I actually have vested interest in this thread. On Dec. 28th, I placed an order for a Q5, Chechen top, Chechen fingerboard, bart electronics and a 34" neck. I placed this with Bass Central and also paid a $1000 deposit. From what I can gather after reading through all the threads here and the emails I received from Bass Central, production has stopped and for the time being, they are not taking new orders, although one of the threads here stated they are still taking new orders. The owner of Bass central emailed me stating,
"Modulus is officially out of production right now.
They may or may not go back into production. If and When is unsure…….

Re your bass, GH talked to Modulus 2 days ago, and they are TRYING to finish it. More news as GH hears from them, OK? "

He goes on to offer a refund etc....

Modulus is trying to finish my bass, I do not feel good about those words.

If anyone would know. Bass Central would. Beaver and GH are always on top on things. Very sad to hear. I guess I won't bother sending in my warranty card for the new Q5 I just bought. I hope Modulus gets it back together. And I hope you either get your bass or your money back. Good luck.

I know this may not be exactly what you want to hear, but Tony at Planet Bass has almost the exact bass you ordered (it's identical except for a phenolic fingerboard). If you end up having to go the refund route, maybe this one would be close enough for you...

I know I am trying to reach him, I hope it is still there. Thanks brother.

The internet and the availability of rapid information, correct or not, has changed the landscape for any manufacturer or retailer. Those that adapt, survive, those that do not, well they get now 19 page topics about whether they are still around or not, with no information at all from them. A case study in bad business.

Bass Central has given me a full refund, the bass was not started at the point of the restructuring.

Killer basses I always wanted one but when I called a few years ago and asked if they would make a lefty and they told me the mold for lefty necks broke. I asked how a sold metal mold broke and how simultaneously all three broke the 4, 5 and 6 string molds. No answers…..been watching this thread for a little and well the only thing that comes to my mind is Zon an excellent alternative and well Joe never lied to me. I am curious if they are out of business but not concerned either.
