I even understand those that play the game with integrity that is somewhat lacking.
I was recently offered an endorsement deal (not sure why really, I'm nobody of significance, but it proves sometimes being in the right place at the right time with the right people can make a HUGE difference) - the deal would have required that I purchase said item - at a significant discount mind you. Now, I wouldn't mind having this item, but the reality is I probably wouldn't use it for gigging, and frankly, I wouldn't feel right about endorsing a product, just for the sake of having the endorsement, and not really use it. Now if DR wanted to give me an endorsement and send me free strings for life, I'd be all over that!

My friend here locally that is (or rather was) a Modulus endorser sure didn't get his instruments free - I don't know what he paid, but I know he was dealing directly with Geoff for his first one - I was with him when he got to pick the quilt top - that had to be more than 20 years ago. The finished product was also the first 6 string bass I ever saw.
