Kibble, milkbones, and P Basses. And redheads.
Generally, either "a paid rehearsal", or "an early night".

yeah, some musicians get overly righteous about that song (and plenty of others). For me, it's what we call a 100 percenter because that's usually the percentage of patrons dancing to it. Money in the pocket.Empties the room of musicians, perhaps. But our totally un-hip crowd still gets up for it.![]()
when there are more people in the band than in the audience?
If not, there should be.

Early on it was excess gratuitous guitar wanking that cleared rooms for us. It took a minute for the band to realize bar bands are basically real time muzak machines specializing in dance music. We quickly developed a set list geared toward dancing and another one focused on party music, which included a full acoustic set we’d break out when the party ran long and folks just wanted to coast on down to something mellow and not loud. It's when the band has a case of "MSS" or "Mustang Sally Syndrome", the song that usually empties a room.
Not in my experience. Exactly the opposite. It's when the band has a case of "MSS" or "Mustang Sally Syndrome", the song that usually empties a room.

I got to see most of the final dress rehearsal for a Plant and Page tour in Pensacola Florida. They had the Civic center booked for two weeks of rehearsal before they started a north American tour and their last day was a Wednesday and we arrived that morning to start loading in for a spring home and garden show on Thursday. Apparently Plant and Page spent most of the time golfing while the band worked on the show every day. They played golf that Wednesday morning so the band waited until they came in around noon to do the final run through. We’d finished signing contracts and getting keys and were getting ready to go check in to our rooms when the girl handling our show asked if we wanted to stay for the rehearsal. We ordered pizza for the civic center staff and took it out into the arena. There were no floor seats but we had a great view from the arena seats. The show was fantastic and after Plant and Page posed for some photos to go on the office brag board, which was like a who's who of popular music acts. I learned that Pensacola is (or was in the mid 90’s) a popular spot for national touring acts to polish up their show before taking it on the road.Me and my wife saw page and Plant just the two of us, it was an outdoor show at new year in San Remo Italy, they did 3 or 4 tunes for sound check, no one else noticed
