It Was 50 Years Ago Today...

Happy Aniversary! That’s pretty cool. I wish I would have started when I was a young’ un. I say the same thing about golf. I’ve been playing for 50 years. You’d think I’d be good at it by now.

Ah, golf! I started that before music. Took lessons as a young teen in the early 60s from Olin Dutra (1932 PGA and 1934 US Open winner). I was pretty good. If I would have stuck with it I coulda been a contender. But then the late 60s came along and music, among other things, took priority. Tried picking the game back up several years ago but the swing was gone.

Well, 50 years ago, I was 16 months old so I was walking and speaking in sentences - two things I seem to have trouble with now! According to family lore, my first sentence was: "What is THAT?" when presented with my newborn baby sister!
