Or maybe “Bass of Spades”. I bought this T-shirt at Costco recently. Wearing it for the third time before really looking at it and noticing the bass guitar. At first I thought it was the lazy way an artist draws a six-string as having only 4 tuning pegs, but then I noticed the “B” in the spades suit. Guess it all must have registered subliminally when I first bought it.

What's nice is knowing so little about playing cards or scale length, this shirt can be like the I Ching for you, an endless source of inspiration, each day offering new interpretations and eiphanies. I've always said that when we die, all truths are revealed and all things are made known. I suppose that means that when I die, I'll finally be the bass player I always aspired to be. (And maybe by then, I'll know how to get the tone I've always heard in my head. )
