although I tend to hate the later Charvel logo (toothpaste style ), I would L.O.V.E. to find a 89 850xl in black or dark blue somewhere.

Ya it is nothing more than a glorified 3b, but the beveled body top edge, and rarity make it desirable. ( well at least to me :) )

That looks so......'90s.

:)

I'm with you on the beveling, it does look good. I also agree about the toothpaste logo. The older guitar shaped one looks so much better.

Now, I just wish I could get a response about a certain Charvel.
90's Jacksons to me is the colorchanging flametop JJ bass.:smug: and all the failed attempts to have 100,000 people buy the strathead CMS series stuff.

and naturally all the MIJ-pro stuff in the 90's

and let us not forget how many choices you had back then but how many DEALERS wanted to stock them???

A grand or 1500 for a no-name Charvel bass was insane because back then everything was a "customshop" bass coming out of that place.

Rusty, I wish I OWNED a 1980 ANYONE out of the 7 models they made back then. :hyper:

time for a new entry in the Jackson bass thread.... After emails floating around all over the place, I just found out that ONE MORE person has a TBX like mine and Andre's..

Steve was the bassplayer in a metal band called Traitors Gate from the 80's early 90's from the UK who used the Jackson.

so now we know there are 5 of these still out there and here is his unit :D

where are the remaining 22 other ones at out of the 27 they supposedly finished and shipped ????? :D

Martin, I'll bet that thing dives like a champ with the strap pin on the horn....

lucky? no not really there are many others on TB that have much more "valuable" basses than those TBX's.

but for JacksonFreaks, yes it is one of the collectibles everyone wants.
don't forget...your KELLY is a C/S so it also has a lot of collectability value.

go toss an ad on EBAY start the bidding at 1500.00, then see who bites and pull the auction a 1/2 day before it ends with the disclaimer in your description:
"I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime as it is for sale locally"

that's f-ed up to do that, as I see that going on every week with a lot of items, but if you REALLY wanna see what people will pay for it..................well............

I know, dude. But just how classy is the TBX, you know?

The only thing about my Kelly--if it had the same bridge as your TBX, it'd be perfect. The Kahler trem just doesn't work on it and a Kahler hardtail would fit perfectly. Oh well

And with the strap button on the top like that...nah. On a bass like that, it makes it so neck heavy and it always wants to twist back in an uncomfortable direction. On my Kelly, it has one button on the heel and one on the top, just like that. Comfy as hell when it's strapped to the back of the heel, but when it's on the top, the buttons are too close together. Maybe it'd fit a lot better on a person smaller than me, though.

thanks Rusty, ya that has been on mine ( and probably many others watchlist ) with 3 days to go...I'm sure it will hit 150 with a bad neck...I love the statement:

"The neck needs a good straightening, we have turn and turn'ed it, but it needs more"

classic bad neck or they didn't know what they were doing obviously.

I would bid, bad neck or not since I have enough necks I could throw on it, but If I ever bought a Kelly it would be a 90 something KBX-pro, not a plain KB1.

I've had it on my watch list since yesterday morning as well, though I really want to wait and find a neck thru version. And shark fin inlays. Is that the KBX Pro?

That, and there are a couple of Fender bodies and necks on eBay ending today that I'll probably pick up. My budget for the week will likely be shot by tonight.

:)
