And I agree wholeheartedly. I think the Concert Vs are the coolest 5 strings...I really regret not getting one when I had the chance last summer. Wouldn't mind it if Jackson made a Kelly again at all. I wouldn't mind it if Jackson started producing basses with the Model series headstocks as well as the smaller ones they make nowadays.

And damn, I LOVE the Kelly shape...

It's starting to grow on me as well. I found a beat and battered one in a pawn shop a couple of weeks ago and it really piqued my interest. I'd like to find one in better shape to see what it really can do.

The one I found was a bolt on, dot markers and only three pots/knobs, in black. The one above looks amazing. Would love to find that one around here.

there was one on ebay for 269.00 someone snatched it up quick, it was a KB1 bolt on...theres also another one in better condition STILL on ebay, but the frikkin fool wants about 300 more than it is worth @ 625.00 he will be RE-listing it for some time...lol

When I think of Jackson I think of pointy guitars so I'd have to have one of these rather than something like a C-20 or the xB series. I'd love to find one with the shark fin inlays too.

I hear ya rusty, I'm the same, I WISH ALL my C/J's had finned necks, but oh well..someday I'll find a finned neck, and toss it on one of mine to make a CharvelMutt, cause dots or fins, the neck specs are the same thru many many years worth of units.

the c-20 series, the JJ and the others that lost the point attracted a lot of "point haters" to buy their units, like the FenderFreaks who always remember their characteristics that make those people coming back for more of the "standard Fender look".units.

can you imagine the outrage if Fender created a pointyheadstock that was the same old jazz/P body/hardware/electronics, just with a different head design???!!!!

( they'd probably sell 1/2 a million of them in the first 5 years )

I do rather like the JJ, but in the little time that I've been playing Laklands and Fenders I've gotten very used to the tuners all being on the same side. Now I get confused when I try and tune my late fiance's Schecter. I've been programmed!

People probably would be put off by a pointy headstocked Fender. Remember the Performers? Those went absolutely nowhere, though I do occasionally catch myself wanting one. I like the body shape but don't think I'd care much for that pencil thin neck. Maybe I'll build myself a body and then put a P bass neck on it.

Oh, almost forgot. I saw a finned Jackson neck on eBay a few weeks ago and almost talked myself into buying it. Now I wish I had, it went pretty cheap. Somewhere around $55.00 shipped if I remember correctly.

hahah typical worldwide rejection of a radical new idea...Just like the anti-Grav bass, the Futura, the TBX the Eliminator...I could go on and on...good "IDEAS", just not enough popularity for the "die-hards" to make it into a mass selling reality.

The HMs had pointy headstocks? I don't remember that. I know they had blacked out headstocks and pastel and hot pink bodies but pointy too?

Too much loud music must have muddied my memory. Hmm.

Edit: You don't mean the Squier HMs, do you? Those I remember having a pointy head.

I just got this Charvel in a trade today.

Given it a cleanup, new strings, a setup and a new battery, and I must say I'm very impressed so far.
