those pics arent crappy, and I ALWAYS loved the variation in finishes you could get on a JJ bass especially the FLAME tops.Jackson JJ... Sorry for the crappy pics.
Amimbari, Those flame ones are cool. I've only seen one used one for sale. GC Hollywood had one for 999. A little pricey... Actually I've only seen two black ones for sale and I got one of them... lol.

There was a period a few years back where the flame ones were showing up on Ebay like once every couple of months. I haven't been looking as much in the last year or two. When they did show up back then, they went for pretty cheap.
^ I thought GC was on crack when I saw that price. I found mine on the old dude pit. I only check ebay once a month or so for Jackson. I'm glad things worked out for you on your Jackson, Love that bridge!

Has anyone come across or have the John Campbell signature bass?
I know it's basically a modified CMG, but with the pickup config and the way he describes the neck, I've always wanted to try one out for the brutalz songs we play!

Thanks, yeah, this bass is way better than I ever hoped it would be. First off I thought the guy was probably lying about the condition, so I prepared myself for the probability it would have some scuffs and dings; secondly, I had never played one of these so I was totally taking a gamble on whether I would actually like how it played and sounded. Amazingly, it is a home run on both counts--it's spotless, and I love both the feel and the tone.
The one minor bummer is the bridge pup. At a minimum I'll swap it out, but I'm even considering having the body routed for a different pickup, placed a little farther from the bridge. Maybe a second reverse P.

I'm thinking about trading the JJ for a guitar amp or guitar. Just to have one sitting around. I guess I should do it the right way and put it up for trade. I will do that. Edit: I did it the right way... I want a cool jazz.

My local guitar shop is a Jackson dealer and they had one of the JC's in the trans black finish for a while. He actually just sold it last week. It was a soild built bass, had a super flat neck profile. The sound was kinda "high end" sounding, meaning that it was real gainy.
...if that makes sense?
John Campbell/Kip Winger/Phil Collen....all desirable specialty basses, but eh....the same neck specs, I'll buy a Concert/CMG for a lot less
well actually I won't be getting one since I already have 8 Jacksons with the same neck specs ...lol
and your comment MBP on the "gainy" tone...all I can say is:
no guitarplayers EVER drown me out!!!!

You guys saw the Kelly on Ebay lately, right? I can't afford to "collect" it, but man it's cool.
I agree with you bongo, but me having a KBX and a TBX would be a nice pair....
